How to Make Heart-Shaped Pizzas image

Heart-baker, dream-maker! Show the love this Valentine's Day with easy heart-shaped pizzas. Grab some dough, arm yourself with the "pinch-and-pull" technique, and it'll be all heart-shaped up in there!

Provided by Kare for Kitchen Treaty

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 4

Your favorite pizza dough
Your favorite pizza sauce
Cheese (omit or use dairy-free cheese for vegan version - I like Daiya Mozzarella Shreds)
Your favorite toppings - I like onions

Steps:

  • Grab a ball of pizza dough. Set it on your cookie sheet or pizza stone.
  • Shape/flatten it into a circle. If your dough won't hold its shape, let it sit for 5 minutes then try again.
  • Pinch and pull the bottom of the circle to form a point.
  • Take a finger to the top middle and push down toward the center of the pizza. Then tweak and shape a bit here and there if you'd like.
  • Top just as you would any pizza!
  • Bake following your pizza crust instructions - my general rule is 450 degrees Fahrenheit and I start checking the pizza at about 5 minutes - usually it's about 8 minutes before the toppings are perfectly melty and the crust is golden. Serve.

HEART-SHAPED PIZZA FOR TWO

Heart-Shaped Pizza for Two image

With a few little tricks, you can transform a regular pepperoni pizza into a special heart-shaped treat. We take a few shortcuts, like store-bought pizza dough and sauce, so that it comes together quickly, but don't worry, we won't tell anyone it wasn't a labor of love.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 1h40m

Yield 2 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound store-bought pizza dough
1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for brushing
16 slices pepperoni
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1/2 cup prepared pizza sauce
1 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella

Steps:

  • Put the pizza dough in a medium bowl and coat well with the olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, put a large inverted baking sheet on the lowest oven rack and preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.
  • Fold a pepperoni slice in half and use a pair of kitchen shears to trim the edges into the shape of half of a heart. (When you unfold the pepperoni slice, it will be a whole heart.) Repeat this process with the remaining pepperoni, then set aside.
  • Divide the pizza dough into 2 balls. On a lightly floured surface, stretch 1 ball of dough into a 10-inch round. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper, then slide the parchment and dough onto a second inverted baking sheet. Use a pair of kitchen shears or a paring knife to cut the pizza dough into the shape of a large heart, discarding the dough scraps.
  • Spread half of the sauce on the dough in a thin layer and scatter half of the mozzarella on top. Top with half of the pepperoni slices. Use a pastry brush to brush the exposed edges of the dough with olive oil. Carefully slide the parchment onto the preheated baking sheet and bake until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling, 6 to 8 minutes. Let cool 1 to 2 minutes before slicing. Repeat to make a second pizza.
