KITTY'S BAKED BBQ AND BACON BEANS FOR A CROWD
Over the years, these beans have always been requested for any picnic or bbq we've held or have attended. Very easy too. Serves a large crowd but recipe can be scaled down to your liking. Kitty was a co-worker of mine years ago and passed along this recipe before she moved to the south.

Steps:
- Pour all beans into a very large mixing bowl and combine.
- In a large roasting pan, layer the beans, sugar, molasses and bacon squares; starting with the beans on the bottom and end with bacon on the top.
- Bake at 350 degrees, covered, for 1 1/2 hours; remove lid and bake for an additional 1/2 hour.

Steps:
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan. Finely chop the celery sticks, onion and red pepper and gently fry until soft, about 10 mins. Set the softened veg aside and fry the bacon in the same pan until golden and crisp. Tip in the garlic clove and chilli powder and cook for 1 min.
- Pour in passata, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce and the softened veg and stir well.
- Rinse and drain the borlotti beans and cannellini beans. Tip into the pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 mins. Season to taste and serve with jacket potatoes.

Steps:
- In a large Iron skillet, cook the bacon and salt pork and crumble and then set aside.
- In a Large Dutch Oven, sauté the onions, bell peppers, garlic with the oil then set aside.
- Add the bacon and salt pork to the Dutch Oven with the onions, bell peppers, and garlic, stir combining all together....
- Add the pork and beans, brown sugar, bbq sauce, mustard, vinegar, and salt.
- Stir all together then place in a large baking pan and cover.
- Place in oven at 250 degrees F. and cook for 4 hours. ENJOY !!!
