SPICY PAN-FRIED PORK CHOPS

Spicy Pan-Fried Pork Chops image

Pan-fried pork chops with a fiery kick. *Extremely spicy.* I kind of just threw this together while I was messing around in the kitchen one day. The batter or marinade can be easily altered to appeal to anyone's taste. Again, these turn out very spicy, but still have a ton of flavor, not just that hot that leaves your mouth burning.

Time 8h35m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 medium onions, roughly chopped
6 medium jalapeno peppers, stemmed
4 habanero peppers, stemmed
5 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
8 (5 ounce) thin-cut boneless pork chops, trimmed of fat
2 cups water
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
1 cup canola oil for frying, or as needed

Steps:

  • Combine onion, jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, garlic, and Worcestershire in the bowl of a food processor; puree until smooth.
  • Pour a thin layer of marinade in the bottom of a medium rectangular glass or ceramic container so the bottom is completely covered. Place 4 pork chops in the bowl and cover in marinade. Add last 4 pork chops and pour in remaining marinade, ensuring all pork chops are coated. Cover and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Pour marinade and chops into a large saucepan. Add water and bring to a boil. Continue to boil, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine flour, onion soup mix, cayenne, garlic powder, and seasoned salt for batter in a small mixing bowl.
  • Transfer boiled chops to a cutting board, softly pat with a paper towel to remove excess liquid, and coat with batter. Discard any remaining boiling liquid.
  • Heat enough oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat that it fills the pan to 1/4 inch.
  • Fry chops in the hot oil until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes; flip and continue to cook until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

PERFECT FRIED PORK CHOPS

Perfect Fried Pork Chops image

My fried pork chop recipe :) I came up with this after trying many recipes & not really finding the flavor I wanted for my pork chops. I will sometimes skip soaking as I don't always have time. Choose soak time wisely, as the longer they soak the harder it is to keep the breading from falling off due to excess moisture absorbed in the soaking process. I suggest boneless tho as they are easier to tenderize & will require less soak time to keep juicy. Bone in will take longer, but still work with this recipe. Parsley is optional, some people find that it burns too easily so you can omit & the flavor will not change much at all. I personally love this recipe with a side of Louisiana hot sauce for dipping, I find it compliments the flavor perfectly.

Time 1h35m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cups milk
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups flour
4 tablespoons onion powder
4 tablespoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons cayenne
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon parsley (optional)
4 -6 boneless pork chops
1/2-1 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Steps:

  • Mix milk with first amount of salt (2 teaspoons) and allow pork chops to soak in this mixture for as long as you'd like, about an hour to maybe four works well. Overnight soaking will result in too much moisture & your breading will fall off.
  • Remove pork chops from brine, and set aside. Brine should be discarded.
  • Mix all spices in with flour.
  • Heat oil in pan.
  • Coat each side of the pork chops, applying pressure to make the batter stay on during cooking. One coat is good for a thin layer of batter. For a thicker coating, dip them in a separate bowl of a little milk with an egg mixed well, and again in the flour.
  • Make sure oil is hot. You can check by dropping a pinch of flour in, and it will sizzle if it is. Oil temperature should be around 375 degrees F, if you have an oil thermometer.
  • Cook on each side 4-6 minutes on each side, or until meat is no longer pink inside. Chops with bones will take a bit longer, and we cook them on one side until blood starts to come out of the bone before flipping. If you have a meat thermometer, the inner temperature should be at least 160 degrees F.

Another favorite of my family that dates back to my grandmother, these chops come out so crispy and delicious. I serve them with mashed potatoes, a veggie, and sawmill gravy. A great comfort meal any time! This recipe is very similar to my Crispy Southern Fried Chicken recipe. I found that it works very well with pork chops,...

FRIED BREADED PORK TENDERLOIN

Fried Breaded Pork Tenderloin image

I am NOT a big pork fan, but I do like pork tenderloin - it's "the other white meat" very low in fat content (hate fatty meats!) The rosemary makes this absolutely heavenly. Got it out of my old Good Housekeeping cookbook. (my newlywed bible)I like to make my twice-baked potatoes with this, and some broccoli or asparagus(when it's cheap)
