This recipe was given to me by Cindy Wamsley. I prefer to use a Honey-Mesquite barbecue sauce for mine.

150 count hillshire farms Little Smokies sausages
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce, your favorite
1 cup water
1 (9 ounce) bag potato chips, your favorite

Steps:

  • Place smokies in a 6-quart crock pot.
  • Pour in barbecue sauce and water.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer.
  • Serve once smokies plump up (about an hour).
  • Serve with potato chips.

6 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon pepper
4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
3/4 cup catsup
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
1 (1 lb) package Little Smokies sausage

Steps:

  • Combine dry ingredients; add liquid.
  • Stir to mix.
  • Add margarine.
  • Add lil smokies.
  • Simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Sauce can also be used for baked barbecue chicken or pork.
  • Sometimes I also fix this in a crockpot.
