Time 18m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 3

6 large bananas, unpeeled, stems removed
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill for high heat.
  • Spray 4 sheets of aluminum foil, large enough to wrap bananas, with cooking spray.
  • Slice the peel of the banana from stem to bottom, while slicing the banana inside lengthwise. The bananas can be cut into slices instead if you like, (while still in the peel) for easier handling later.
  • Carefully open the banana just wide enough to place the chocolate chips and marshmallows inside the peel with the banana. Stuff with as much of the chocolate chips and marshmallows as desired.
  • Wrap the bananas with the aluminum foil and place on the grill or directly in the coals of a fire. Leave in long enough to melt the chips and the marshmallows, about 5 minutes. Unwrap bananas, open the peels wide, and eat with a spoon.

CHOCOLATE STUFFED BANANAS

Chocolate Stuffed Bananas image

A simple but excellent dessert.

Provided by Penny Hall

Categories     Fruit Desserts

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 2

6 firm bananas, unpeeled
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Instructions Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Make a lengthwise slit down the center of each banana. Divide the chocolate chips evenly in the center slits of the bananas. Wrap each banana tightly in aluminum foil. Grill the bananas for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the chocolate chips are slightly melted. Unwrap the bananas and peel back the skins. Slice into 2-inch pieces and serve immediately. Notes Since these can be a little messy, you might want to serve them with toothpicks, or slice them a little smaller and serve over ice cream.
