This is our family's favorite, its a Semi Home made dish but goes over So well, Its requested Often, with Never any leftovers. We enjoyed these with our BBQ Steaks and Burgers for our Mothers day family gathering. Feel free to "Double" this recipe to serve a larger Crowd.

FAMILY BAKED BEANS GREAT FOR GATHERINGS & POTLUCKS
2or 3 large family cans bushes country style baked beans (only use thick & rich country style)
1 large onion sliced and chopped
1/2 lb bacon, sliced, browned, & drained
1/4 Cup molassas
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp dry colemans mustard ( optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Open cans, pour into Crock Pot or Large Sauce Pan. Slice and Chop onions, Cut bacon into small pieces to fry. fry onion with Bacon together drain on paper towels (add no grease to these beans) add to Beans
  • 2. Add all the remaining Ingredients. Stir well. Cook covered on high in crock pot about 2 hrs. til onions are cooked. Note: If Using "sauce pan", Simmer about 2 Hrs, on med-Low. Being careful to watch your pan and stir Often.
  • 3. Serve Hot right from the Crock Pot. Guarranteed Yummmiest Baked Beans. Recipe can easily be Doubled., for a larger batch. TIP: I DO NOT USE ANY OTHER BUSHES BAKED BEANS, as they are tooo Runny and it will not turn out the same!

Easy Baked Beans image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound bacon
1 large sweet onion, such as Vidalia, finely chopped
Four 14-ounce cans pork and beans
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan, leaving the drippings, and drain it on paper towels. Crumble and set aside.
  • Add the onion to the pan with the bacon drippings and saute until softened, a couple minutes. Stir in the beans, molasses, brown sugar, mustard and crumbled bacon, and mix well.
  • Pour the beans into a 3-quart casserole and bake, uncovered, for about 45 minutes.
