Steps:
- Select loaf size and add the ingredients according to manufacturer's directions.
- Select dough cycle.
- When dough is complete, remove to floured surface.
- Cover with plastic wrap: let rest 5 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a loaf of four balls.
- Place in a greased 23 cm by 12 cm loaf pan.
- Cover with a tea towel and let rise in the warm place until doubled (50 to 60 minutes depending).
- Bake at 190 degrees Celsius, 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 35 minutes, or until golden.
- Use old cheddar for best flavor, or replace basil with dill weed for more great taste.
FAVORITE CHEESY RANCH BREAD (ABM)
This is the bread my kids beg for! It is great toasted or served along with a good bowl of chili. Enjoy! :) (Special note: the optional cubed cheese add yummy-gooey pockets of cheese through out the bread!... give it a try) :) Makes a LARGE 1 1/2 pound loaf. UPDATE: As many of reviewers have suggested, adding another TB of dry ranch dressing mix adds a wonderful boost of flavor! I usually add 2+ TB., but wanted to be conservative, due to sodium content concerns of many.

- Place ingredients in bread pan in order listed or according to manufacturer' s directions.
- The cheddar cheese and bacon are added at the fruit and nut signal. Depending on your machine this could be anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes into the cycle.
- Remember, when adding the yeast last, make a small well with your finger to place the yeast. This will insure the proper timing of the yeast reaction. This bread is processed at the Basic (Standard) or Rapid cycle, or according to manufacturer' s directions.

Steps:
- Heat milk, water and butter until warm (100° to 110°F). Pour into large mixing bowl and add yeast. Stir and let rest for 5 minutes. Beat in eggs.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Add to liquid mixture and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Combine cheddar cheese, Asiago cheese, bacon and chives in a bowl. Reserve one third, stir remaining cheese mixture into batter. Pour into greased 9-inch round cake pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, 40 to 50 minutes.
- Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese mixture over bread. Return to oven and bake additional 5 to 10 minutes until well browned and bread is done. Cut into slices and serve warm. Refrigerate leftover bread.

- 1. Place all ingredients (except cheese, bacon and onion) in machine in order recommended by manufacturer.
- 2. Set on Fruit and Nut (or raisin) cycle. When machine beeps, add cheese, bacon and onion.
- 3. If your machine doesn't have this cycle, you can add everything at once, but it will "pulverize" the bacon (but you will still have the flavor).
