APPLESAUCE OATMEAL BREAD
We liked the expensive bread from the grocery store for toast. This is better, and you can cut it as thick or thin as you like! It is also really good for french toast. I always use my ABM to knead it for me then I rise it and bake it in a regular loaf pan.

I ran across a similar recipe on the King Arthur web site, but not having their exact ingredients, I substituted my own, and got this lovely loaf of tea bread. This is wonderful with butter, or with plain or flavored cream cheese.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the sugar, eggs, coconut oil, and vanilla until mixture is creamy.
- 2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flours, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in the mixing bowl. Blend in the rolled oats, applesauce, and walnuts. Place the mixture in a greased loaf pan. Press the 2 tablespoons of rolled oats evenly over the top of the batter. I used a long teabread-sized pan (12x4x3"), but a regular 9x5" loaf pan will also work.
- 3. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean when tested in the center of the loaf. Cool completely in the pan before slicing. * A 9x5" loaf pan may take an hour to bake.

With the tips and tricks provided in this article, you can make the perfect loaf of apple oatmeal bread every time.Applesauce oatmeal bread is a great way to incorporate a healthier bread option into your diet. It is moist, flavorful, and perfect for breakfast or as a snack. Making applesauce oatmeal bread is easy, but there are certain tips that can make the process even simpler and quicker. Here are some valuable tips that will ensure that you have the best applesauce oatmeal bread.
1. Use The Right Type Of Flour
When making applesauce oatmeal bread, it is important to select the right type of flour. Bread flour is the best option as it has a higher protein content than other flours. This will help the bread rise better and will also give it a better texture. If you do not have bread flour, you can use all-purpose flour, but the bread may not rise as much and may be slightly denser.
2. Use Old Fashioned Oats
For this recipe, it is important to use old fashioned oats instead of quick oats. Old fashioned oats are thicker and will give the bread a great texture. Quick oats will get soft and absorb too much liquid, resulting in a mushy texture.
3. Use Unsweetened Applesauce
Using unsweetened applesauce will ensure that your bread is not overly sweet. If you use sweetened applesauce, the bread may be too sweet and the flavor of the applesauce may overpower the other ingredients. If you prefer a sweeter bread, you can adjust the amount of sugar in the recipe, but keep the applesauce unsweetened.
4. Add Cinnamon For Flavor
Adding cinnamon to the bread will give it a warm, cozy flavor. It will also complement the flavor of the applesauce and oats. Use ground cinnamon and add it to the dry ingredients before mixing.
5. Use A Loaf Pan
When baking bread, it is important to use a loaf pan. A loaf pan will help the bread rise and hold its shape. If you do not have a loaf pan, you can use a cake or pie pan, but the bread may be flatter and spread out more than it would in a loaf pan.
6. Use Baking Powder And Baking Soda
To help the bread rise properly, it is important to use both baking powder and baking soda. Baking powder is a leavening agent that helps the bread rise, while baking soda helps the bread brown and gives it a crust. Make sure to use both and not substitute one for the other.
7. Use Room Temperature Ingredients
Using room temperature ingredients will help the bread mix together more easily. It will also help the bread rise better when baking. Make sure to take the eggs, applesauce, and buttermilk out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before using them.
8. Do Not Overmix
Overmixing the bread can lead to a tough and dense texture. Mix the ingredients until just combined and do not overmix. It is okay if the batter has some lumps and bumps as this will give the bread a nice texture.
9. Let The Bread Cool Before Slicing
Make sure to let the bread cool completely before slicing it. Slicing it while it is still warm can cause it to fall apart and not hold its shape. It is best to let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Conclusion
Making applesauce oatmeal bread is easy and delicious. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that your bread will be moist, flavorful, and have a great texture. Use the right type of flour, add cinnamon for flavor, use a loaf pan, and be sure to let the bread cool before slicing. With these tips, you can create the perfect applesauce oatmeal bread that your family will love.
