CINNAMON APPLESAUCE JELLO SALAD

Cinnamon Applesauce Jello Salad image

I was looking for cool summer salad and found this one on the internet. This turned out really good although next time I may use Cool Whip instead of the cream cheese, since my hubby is not a big fan of cream cheese. The red hots give it a good taste, not at all hot just a good cinnamon flavor.

This is a nice, different side dish to poultry. I usually serve at Christmas... the addition of the red hot candies give it a nice festive cinnamon flavor! Kids love it. I've substituted with Cranberry, always go back to Cherry. The flavors compliment each other well.

Valuable Tips when Making Applesauce Cinnamon Jello Recipes

If you are looking for a simple and delicious dessert to impress your guests, the applesauce cinnamon jello recipe is a great option. This recipe combines the sweetness of apples, the warmth of cinnamon, and the jiggly texture of jello, creating a dessert that is both comforting and refreshing. To ensure that your applesauce cinnamon jello turns out perfectly every time, here are some valuable tips to follow.
1. Choose the Right Applesauce
Applesauce is the star ingredient of this recipe, so it's crucial to choose the best one possible. You can either use store-bought applesauce or make your own from scratch. If you prefer store-bought applesauce, choose the unsweetened, natural option, as it will not overpower the cinnamon flavor. However, if you decide to make your own, opt for sweet and juicy apples such as Honeycrisp, Gala, or Fuji. Homemade applesauce is also a great way to control the amount of sugar and spices that go into your jello.
2. Use Gelatin for the Perfect Texture
To achieve the perfect jiggly texture for your applesauce cinnamon jello, you will need to use unflavored gelatin. This protein-packed ingredient helps the jello hold its shape and gives it a silky, smooth consistency. You can find unflavored gelatin in most grocery stores or online. Follow the instructions on the package, and make sure to dissolve the gelatin completely before adding it to your jello mixture.
3. Add the Right Amount of Cinnamon
Cinnamon is the key spice that gives the applesauce cinnamon jello its warm and cozy flavor. However, adding too much cinnamon can overpower the sweetness of the applesauce and make the dessert unappetizing. For best results, use 1-2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, depending on your taste preferences. If you want a stronger cinnamon flavor, you can also add a cinnamon stick or two to the jello mixture, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
4. Customize with Extra Ingredients
Although the classic applesauce cinnamon jello recipe is delicious on its own, you can also customize it by adding extra ingredients. For instance, you can mix in chopped apples, raisins, or walnuts for a crunchy texture. Alternatively, you can sprinkle some whipped cream, caramel sauce, or maple syrup on top of the jello to add some sweetness and decadence. Whatever ingredients you choose, make sure they complement the flavor and texture of the jello.
5. Store Properly for Freshness
If you have leftover applesauce cinnamon jello, you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to five days. However, keep in mind that the jello may lose its texture and flavor over time, so it's best to consume it as soon as possible. Before serving, let the jello come to room temperature to soften a bit, and garnish it with your favorite toppings.
6. Experiment with Different Variations
The applesauce cinnamon jello recipe is versatile and adaptable, so feel free to experiment with different variations. For example, you can substitute the applesauce with pumpkin puree for a festive twist, or use pear sauce instead for a milder and sweeter flavor. You can also add different spices such as nutmeg, ginger, or allspice to enhance the aroma and flavor of the jello. Don't be afraid to get creative and make the recipe your own. In conclusion, making applesauce cinnamon jello is not only easy but also fun and rewarding. By following these valuable tips and tricks, you will be able to create a dessert that is sure to impress your family and friends. Remember to choose high-quality ingredients, dissolve the gelatin properly, balance the cinnamon flavor, customize with extra ingredients, store correctly, and experiment with variations. With these skills, you can master the art of making delicious and comforting applesauce cinnamon jello any time of the year.
