½ sweet onion, diced
1 Gala apple, cut into chunks
½ cup Riesling wine
1 cup apple jelly

Apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze is a delicious and somewhat unusual combination of flavors that works brilliantly together. The dish can be prepared in a number of ways; some people prefer to pan-fry the pork before roasting it in the oven, while others prefer to slow cook it for several hours. Whatever your preferred method, there are a few key tips that can help you to make the perfect apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze recipe.

Tip 1: Use a good quality cut of pork:

When making apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze, it's important to start with a high quality cut of pork. This means choosing a lean cut of meat, such as pork tenderloin or loin roast. These cuts are ideal because they have a low fat content, which means that they won't become too greasy or heavy when cooked. In addition, they are both relatively tender and easy to cut, which makes them perfect for roasting.

Tip 2: Season the pork well:

One of the most important steps when making apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze is to season the pork well before it is cooked. This can be done by rubbing the meat with a combination of herbs and spices, such as sage, rosemary, thyme, garlic and black pepper. These ingredients will help to bring out the natural flavors of the pork and will also help to impart a delicious aroma as it cooks.

Tip 3: Choose ripe and sweet apples:

Apples are a key ingredient in apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze, so it's important to choose ripe and sweet varieties. These include Honeycrisp, Fuji, Gala and Pink Lady apples, each of which has a distinct flavor profile that works well with the pork. When selecting your apples, look for those that are firm to the touch, with a bright and consistent color.

Tip 4: Make the cherry balsamic glaze from scratch:

While it is possible to purchase pre-made cherry balsamic glaze, making it from scratch is always preferable. The process is relatively simple and uses just a few ingredients, including fresh or frozen cherries, balsamic vinegar, sugar or honey, cinnamon, and cornstarch. By making the glaze from scratch, you can ensure that it is free from any additives or preservatives, and that it has the perfect consistency and flavor.

Tip 5: Cut the apples into uniform pieces:

When preparing the apples for apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze, it's important to cut them into uniform pieces. This will ensure that they cook evenly and will also give the dish a more polished and attractive appearance. A good rule of thumb is to cut the apples into small, bite-sized pieces that are roughly the same size as the pork.

Tip 6: Keep an eye on the cooking time:

Cooking times can vary depending on the size of the pork and the type of oven you are using. As a general rule, however, it's best to roast the pork for around 35-40 minutes per pound at a temperature of 375 F. To ensure that the meat stays moist and succulent, baste it with the cherry balsamic glaze every 10-15 minutes while it cooks. This will help to lock in the flavors and also give the pork a deliciously sticky glaze.

Tip 7: Let the pork rest before slicing:

After removing the pork from the oven, it's important to let it rest for around 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, which will help to prevent it from becoming dry or tough. During this time, you can prepare the apples and cherry balsamic glaze, which will be used to finish off the dish before serving.

Tip 8: Plate your dish to impress:

When plating your apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze, it's worth taking a little extra time to ensure that it looks visually appealing. This can be done by arranging the apple pieces around the edge of the dish, with the pork in the center. The cherry balsamic glaze can then be drizzled over the top, creating a beautiful contrast of colors and flavors.

Conclusion:

Apple roasted pork with cherry balsamic glaze is a delicious and satisfying dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can ensure that your dish turns out perfectly every time, with succulent and tender pork, flavorful apples, and a deliciously sticky glaze. Whether you're cooking for a dinner party or just want to treat yourself to something special, this recipe is sure to impress.
