- 2 medium-sized apples, cored and sliced into thin rounds
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 2 tbsp of Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take the kielbasa and slice it into 1/2-inch-thick rounds. Set aside.
- Core and slice the apples into thin rounds. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cinnamon. Stir to combine.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from the heat.
- In a skillet, cook the kielbasa rounds over medium-high heat until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Using the same skillet, sauté the apple slices until they are golden brown and tender.
- Arrange the cooked kielbasa rounds and apple slices on the lined baking sheet, alternating them in a circular pattern.
- Drizzle the prepared sauce on top of the kielbasa and apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and the kielbasa and apples are heated through.
- Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving dish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Variations
- You can substitute the kielbasa with other types of smoked sausage, such as chorizo or andouille.
- If you prefer a sweeter sauce, you can add more brown sugar or honey.
- To make the dish spicier, you can add hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the sauce.
- You can also add other ingredients to the dish, such as sliced onions, bell peppers, or chopped garlic, for more flavor and texture.
