1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup brewed tea

Steps:

  • Pour butter into a 9-in. square baking pan; sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange apples over sugar; set aside. , For gingerbread, in a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. 6 medium granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon corn starch
2 Tablespoon water
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup molasses
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F
  • Spray an 8x8 casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Peel, core and slice apples in ¼ inch thick slices.
  • Place in a prepared casserole dish.
  • In a mixing bowl combine brown sugar, cornstarch, water, lemon juice and cinnamon. Mix well and pour over apples.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

1/2 cup robust-flavored (dark) molasses
