Valuable Tips When Making Apple Cinnamon Chimichangas Recipes

Apple cinnamon chimichangas recipes are perfect for those who love the combination of sweet and spicy flavors. Chimichangas are fried burritos that are commonly filled with meat, beans, cheese and vegetables. However, for those who are looking for a sweet treat, apple cinnamon chimichangas are a great option. Here are some valuable tips to keep in mind when making apple cinnamon chimichangas recipes:
Tip 1: Choose the Right Apples
Apples are the star of this recipe, and it's important to choose the right variety of apples. The best apples for baking are firm and tart. Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady apples are great options to use for the filling of apple cinnamon chimichangas. These apples hold their shape well and won't turn mushy during the cooking process.
Tip 2: Use Real Cinnamon
When making apple cinnamon chimichangas recipes, it's important to use real cinnamon. There are two types of cinnamon: Ceylon and Cassia. Cassia cinnamon is commonly used in the United States and is cheaper. However, Ceylon cinnamon has a milder, sweeter taste and is better for baking. If possible, buy Ceylon cinnamon for this recipe.
Tip 3: Prepare the Filling Ahead of Time
Preparing the filling ahead of time will make the cooking process smoother. You can cook the filling the night before and keep it in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it. This will save you time and stress during the cooking process.
Tip 4: Double Check the Frying Temperature
The temperature of the oil is crucial when frying the chimichangas. The oil should be around 350-375 degrees Fahrenheit. If the oil is too hot, the chimichangas will burn on the outside and will be undercooked on the inside. If the oil is too cold, the chimichangas will absorb too much oil and will become greasy.
Tip 5: Use Flour Tortillas
Flour tortillas are the best option to use for apple cinnamon chimichangas recipes. Corn tortillas tend to break and fall apart during the frying process. Flour tortillas are more flexible and will hold the filling in place during frying.
Tip 6: Do Not Overstuff the Chimichangas
When filling the flour tortillas, it's important not to overstuff them. Overstuffing can cause the filling to spill out during the frying process, resulting in an unevenly cooked chimichanga. A good rule of thumb is to use ½ to ¾ of a cup of filling for each chimichanga.
Tip 7: Brush the Tortillas with Butter
Brushing the tortillas with melted butter before frying gives the chimichangas a crispy, golden-brown texture. The butter also adds a rich flavor to the chimichangas.
Tip 8: Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
Apple cinnamon chimichangas are best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cold, creamy texture of the ice cream pairs well with the warm, spicy flavors of the chimichangas.

Conclusion

Apple cinnamon chimichangas are a delightful dessert that combines sweet and spicy flavors. By following these valuable tips, you can create a perfect apple cinnamon chimichanga recipe. Remember to choose the right apples, use real cinnamon, prepare the filling ahead of time, double-check the frying temperature, use flour tortillas, do not overstuff the chimichangas, brush the tortillas with butter, and serve with vanilla ice cream. With these tips in mind, you will have a tasty and successful apple cinnamon chimichanga recipe.
