APPLE RAISIN BREAD

Apple Raisin Bread image

I really enjoy making bread in the colder months. This loaf is one that I have played with a lot and it works no matter what I do to it. I have added nuts, vanilla, cinnamon/ginger, changed the apples to dried cherries( non sugared). I have used applebutter in place of applesauce and trimmed down the honey. Well, you get the idea. 8" cake pans are the perfect thing for baking this bread. It will make 3 loaves.

EASY CINNAMON APPLE RAISIN BREAD

Easy Cinnamon Apple Raisin Bread image

This is an easy and delicious bread to prepare. Even better you only need one mixing bowl because you can throw all of the ingredients right in! Feel free to tweak the ingredients to your liking...add more cinnamon...add nuts, etc. I hope you enjoy it! Edited: I have also tried out the bread by using 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour and 1/2 regular flour, a tbl of wheat germ and less sugar to make it a tiny bit "healthier". It came out just as nice as the original.

Apple cider spiced raisin bread is a delicious dessert recipe that combines the classic taste of homemade bread with the spicy and tangy flavor of apple cider. In this guide, we will be providing valuable tips on how to make the perfect apple cider spiced raisin bread recipe.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Ingredients

One of the most important factors in making a delicious apple cider spiced raisin bread is choosing the right ingredients. For this recipe, you will need:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup raisins
Flour
When selecting the flour for this recipe, it is important to choose all-purpose flour rather than bread flour. All-purpose flour has a lower protein content than bread flour, which will result in a lighter and fluffier bread.
Sugar
The sugar in this recipe can be substituted with brown sugar or honey for a richer taste. However, it is important not to exceed the recommended amount of sugar, as this can cause the bread to become too sweet.
Baking Powder and Baking Soda
Baking powder and baking soda are both essential ingredients in this recipe, as they help to give the bread a light and airy texture. It is important to measure these ingredients accurately to avoid over or under-relying on their respective functions.
Cinnamon and Nutmeg
Cinnamon and nutmeg are the spices that give this bread the distinct apple cider flavor. If you prefer a less spicy bread, you can reduce the amount of these spices accordingly.
Salt
Salt is essential in any bread recipe as it enhances the flavor of the bread. It is important not to omit this ingredient, as it can affect the texture and taste of the final product.
Apple Cider
Using high-quality apple cider is key to this recipe's success. Choose cider that has a fresh, crisp taste and is not too sweet.
Vegetable Oil
Vegetable oil is used to keep the bread moist and tender. You can substitute it with any other neutral-tasting oil, such as canola or sunflower oil.
Eggs
Eggs are the binding agent in this recipe, holding the bread together and giving it structure. It is important to beat the eggs well before adding them to the batter to ensure even distribution.
Raisins
Raisins are the key ingredient that gives this bread its unique flavor and texture. It is important to choose high-quality raisins that are plump and moist, as they will add more flavor to the bread.

Tip 2: Mixing the Batter

Once you have gathered all the necessary ingredients, it is time to mix them together to make the batter. Here are some tips on how to get the perfect batter:
Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit before starting to prepare the batter. This will ensure that the oven is at the right temperature when the bread goes in, resulting in an evenly baked bread.
Sift Your Dry Ingredients Together
Sifting your dry ingredients together will help to remove any lumps or inconsistencies in your flour blend. It also makes it easier to mix the ingredients evenly.
Whisk Your Wet Ingredients Together
Whisking your wet ingredients together will help to ensure that the oil, eggs, and apple cider are well combined. It also makes it easier to mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients
Once your wet and dry ingredients are mixed separately, it is time to combine them together. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well blended.
Add Your Raisins
Once you have mixed the batter, gently fold in the raisins. Be careful not to overmix as this can cause the raisins to break apart and the bread to turn out tough.

Tip 3: Baking the Bread

Now that your batter is ready, it is time to bake the bread. Here are some tips to ensure that your bread turns out perfectly:
Prep Your Baking Pan
Grease your baking pan with butter or cooking spray. This will help to prevent the bread from sticking and make it easier to remove from the pan once it's baked.
Fill Your Baking Pan
Fill your baking pan with the batter, making sure that it is evenly spread out. You can use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth out the batter.
Bake the Bread
Bake the bread for approximately 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean. Keep an eye on the bread as it bakes to ensure that it does not overcook.
Cool the Bread
Once the bread is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the baking pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Conclusion

Apple cider spiced raisin bread is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
