APPLE WALNUT BUNDT CAKE

Apple Walnut Bundt Cake image

This is the perfect apple cake for fall. It stays moist and flavorful for 5 days at room temperature, up to 10 days refrigerated. Because it is made with oil, it can be enjoyed at room temperature or cold.

Categories     Fall     Dessert     Bake     Cake     Apple     Walnut     Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur     Butterscotch/Caramel     Dairy Free     Cinnamon

Yield 12-14 servings

Number Of Ingredients 14

150 grams or 1/2 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoons (140 ml) eggs (about 3 large eggs)
100 grams or 1 cup walnut halves
300 grams or 2 1/2 cups (lightly spooned into the cup and leveled off) bleached all-purpose flour
5.5 grams or 1 teaspoon baking soda
6 grams or 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
4.4 grams or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 large tart apples (657 grams or 1 1/2 pounds) / 525 grams or 4 cups diced
269 grams or 1 1/4 cups (296 ml) canola or safflower oil
200 grams or 1 cup granulated sugar
163 grams or 3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons (10 ml) pure vanilla extract
Caramel Sauce and Glaze (optional)
Baking Equipment
The pan must be a minimum 12 cup capacity, such as a Nordic Ware Anniversary Bundt Pan with 10 to 15 cup capacity, or a 12 cup Bundt pan, coated with baking spray with flour; or a 16 cup two-piece angel food pan, bottom lined with parchment, then coated with baking spray with flour

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven:
  • Twenty minutes or longer before toasting the walnuts, set an oven rack in the lower third of the oven. Set the oven at 350ºF/175ºC.
  • Mise en place:
  • Thirty minutes to 1 hour ahead, set the eggs on the counter at room temperature (65º to 75ºF/19º to 24ºC).
  • TOAST AND CHOP THE WALNUTS: Spread the walnuts evenly on a cookie sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Turn the walnuts onto a clean dish town and roll and rub them around to loosen the skins. Discard any loose skins and let the nuts cool completely. Chop medium coarse.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Peel, core, and cut the apples into 1/8 to 1/4 inch dice.
  • Make the batter:
  • Into the bowl of a stand mixer, weigh or measure the eggs. Add the oil, granulated and brown sugars, and the vanilla. Attach the flat beater and beat on medium speed for 1 minute, until blended.
  • Add the flour mixture and beat on low speed for 20 seconds, just until incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  • Detach the bowl from the stand and with a large spoon stir in the apples and walnuts. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake the cake:
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a wire cake tester inserted near the center comes out clean and the cake springs back when pressed lightly in the center.
  • Cool the cake:
  • Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 30 minutes. If using a straight sided pan, run a metal spatula between the sides of the pan and the cake. Invert the cake onto a wire rack that has been lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray and cool completely for about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Drizzle Caramel Sauce and Glaze over the cake after unmolding.

APPLE CINNAMON BUNDT CAKE

Apple Cinnamon Bundt Cake image

This recipe is from Every Day Foods. I saw it on TV, and it looked so easy, I had to make it. It's moist and full of tender and chunky apple slices, and has a rich cinnamon spice flavor. I served it still warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Wow! Be sure to serve within the first day or two, as the apples will break down.

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h30m

Yield 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar (it calls for light brown, but I used dark brown, and I really liked that)
4 large eggs
6 medium apples (keep from turning brown with a little lemon juice squeezed on the slices) or 4 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch (keep from turning brown with a little lemon juice squeezed on the slices)
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 -3 tablespoons water (I used apple juice, yum!)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350, and prepare the 12 cup bundt pan (grease and flour if you don't have a non-stick).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave, and add brown sugar and eggs, whisking until smooth.
  • Gradually whisk in dry ingredients just until combined- don't overmix.
  • Fold in the apples (it will look sort of like peanut butter coated apple slices, but don't worry- the batter bakes up around the apple slices) and spoon batter into the bundt pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake until a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean (about an hour).
  • Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, and invert onto a rack placed over wax paper to cool completely.
  • Make the glaze by whisking the water (or apple juice) together with the confectioners' sugar adding just enough liquid to make the glaze thick but pourable.
  • Drizzle glaze over completely cooled cake, and let it firm up before serving.

APPLE BOURBON BUNDT CAKE

Apple Bourbon Bundt Cake image

One of my favorite pie alternatives is bundt cake. A hearty spice-filled bundt cake made from grated apples and toasted nuts, then soaked in whiskey syrup, defies the cliché of Thanksgiving dessert, yet keeps well within its harvest-time paradigm. Plus, a bundt cake, which is really just like an oversize muffin baked in a fancy pan, is easy to whip up. The booze bath helps keep it fresh, meaning you can bake it ahead and eat the leftovers for days.

Time 1h30m

Yield 10 to 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 18

2 sticks unsalted butter 226 grams, at room temperature, plus more to grease pan
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 315 grams, plus more to dust the pan
3 tablespoons (30 grams) plus 1/2 cup (80 grams) bourbon or rye whiskey
1/2 cup (90 grams) candied ginger, chopped
1 3/4 cup (330 grams) light brown sugar
4 large eggs, at room temperature
2 teaspoons (8 grams) baking powder
1 teaspoon (5 grams) baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons (3 grams) ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon (5 grams) fine sea salt
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1 cup (227 grams) sour cream
1 tablespoon (15 grams) vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoon (5 grams) finely grated lemon zest
2 medium Granny Smith apples about a pound, 454 grams, peeled, cored, and coarsely grated
1 cup (120 grams) finely chopped, toasted pecans
1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon (20 grams)

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan. In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons bourbon and the candied ginger. Let stand 10 minutes.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the brown sugar and remaining butter on medium-high speed, until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, until incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining flour with the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream and vanilla. Pour in the bourbon from the ginger mixture (reserve ginger) and whisk until smooth. Stir in zest.
  • With the mixer on medium speed, add the dry mixture and sour cream mixture to the wet mixture in three additions, alternating between the two. Fold in the ginger, apples and pecans. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the cake comes out dry, about 1 hour 10 minutes. Cool in the pan 20 minutes, then run a paring knife around the sides of the pan to release the cake; cool, flat side down, on a wire rack.
  • While the cake cools, combine the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup whiskey in a small saucepan. Over low heat, gently stir until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the lemon juice and take off the heat.
  • While the cake cools, make 10 slits on top with a paring knife and pour half the bourbon-sugar mixture on the still-warm cake. When the cake is fully cool, flip it and pour the rest of the glaze on the other side, then flip again to serve.

APPLE SOUR CREAM CINNAMON WALNUT BUNDT CAKE

Apple Sour Cream Cinnamon Walnut Bundt Cake image

This is a rich and extremely moist coffee cake with a layering of walnuts and cinnamon in ribbons in the middle and on top of this cake. This cake can also be baked in a tube pan, see note on bottom. You will get many rave reviews when you serve this cake! You can also make this cake even without the apples, it is still great, but I think even better with the apples!

Provided by Kittencalrecipezazz

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h10m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 1/2 cups walnuts
2 -3 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened (no subs!)
2 large eggs, room temperature (take out of the fridge 30 minutes before using)
1 1/4 cups sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon pure maple extract
2 large chopped granny smith apples, coarsely chopped (or use a similar firm apple)

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350°F.
  • Set oven rack to second-lowest position.
  • Generously butter a bundt pan and then flour (shaking out excess flour).
  • In a bowl mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • In a small food processor, PULSE the walnuts, 2-3 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar until the nuts are chopped.
  • Add in 1/4 cup melted butter and pulse once or twice to combine; set aside.
  • To make the cake: In a large bowl beat the 1 cup softened butter with 1-1/4 cups sugar at high speed with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes.
  • Add in eggs and beat well.
  • Beat in sour cream and vanilla until smooth and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  • Reduce the speed to low and add in the flour mixture, mixing just until blended (the batter will be thick).
  • Add in the chopped apples; mix to combine.
  • Sprinkle half of the nut mixture evenly into bottom of the bundt pan.
  • Spoon half of the batter on top of the nut mixture, spreading out with a spatula, then sprinkle the remaining nut mixture on top of the batter, then top/dollop with remaining cake batter, spreading out with a spoon.
  • Bake for about 50 minutes, or until cake tests done.
  • Cool cake in the pan on a rack for about 1 hour, then run a thin knife around the inner edges.
  • Place rack on top of the pan, then flip to invert onto rack.
  • Cool completely.
  • *NOTE* this cake can be baked in a tube pan, just layer the cinnamon/nut mix twice between three layers of cake batter instead of sprinkling on the bottom of the pan. Layer as follows.
  • A third of the cake batter in the bottom of the pan then sprinkle with half of the nut mixture, then another third batter on top, the the remaining nut mixture then the remaining third of cake batter.
  • This method works quite well, but will produce a higher cake that might take a longer time to bake.

APPLE-HONEY BUNDT CAKE

Time 1h50m

Yield 10 to 12 slices of cake

Number Of Ingredients 17

1 cup vegetable oil, plus more for the pan
3 cups all-purpose flour

  • Make the cake: Preheat the oven to 350˚ F. Brush a 12-cup nonstick bundt pan with vegetable oil. Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom, allspice and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  • Combine 3/4 cup honey, the granulated sugar, vegetable oil and eggs in another large bowl; beat with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Stir in the vanilla. Time 2h30m

Number Of Ingredients 17

1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon water
3 tart green apples, such as Granny Smith, cored, peeled, and cut into 1-inch chunks
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pan
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Coarse salt
1 3/4 cups packed light-brown sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons apple cider

Steps:

  • Make the caramelized apples: Cook granulated sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, without stirring, until sugar caramelizes, about 4 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Stir in apples. Cook, covered, until softened, about 6 minutes. Slightly mash apples with a fork until broken down but still chunky. Continue to cook, uncovered, stirring, until liquid evaporates, about 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make the cake: Butter a 10-inch Bundt pan. Dust with flour, tapping out excess. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and 1 teaspoon salt into a medium bowl.
  • Beat butter and brown sugar with a mixer on high speed until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Reduce speed to low, and add flour mixture in 3 additions, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix in caramelized apples and the walnuts.
  • Transfer batter to pan. Bake until cake is deep golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Let cake cool in pan set on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Turn out cake onto rack, and let cool completely.
  • Once cake is cool, make the glaze: Whisk together confectioners' sugar and cider. Drizzle over top of cake, letting it drip down the sides.

FRESH APPLE BUNDT CAKE

Fresh Apple Bundt Cake image

Marilyn Thomas, one of the original apple growers at Apple Hill, California, opened the first bake shop there in 1966. This is her favorite recipe for Bundt cake. This cake is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, making a nice contrast of textures.

Time 1h25m

Yield 16 Wedges, 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 cups flour
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sugar
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or pecans)
3 cups diced raw apples
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon powdered sugar (optional)
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Sift together the flour, salt, and soda (and cinnamon, if used). Add rest of ingredients and mix together until well blended. The mixture will be very thick, heavy, and hard to stir.
  • Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan. I prefer the flexible silicone rubber pans as this recipe tends to stick to metal pans.
  • Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • While the cake bakes, prepare the topping by mixing all of the ingredients together.
  • As soon as the cake is removed from the oven, and while it is still in the pan, pour the topping over the top. The topping will soak through the cake and down the sides.
  • Let cool for 30 minutes, then invert the cake onto a plate and remove the pan.
  • Optional - sprinkle with powdered sugar. - Add 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon to the dry ingredients of the mix.

FOR THE CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
8 oz cream cheese
1 egg
1/4 c butter, softened
1/2 c granulated sugar
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla
FOR THE CAKE:
1 c chopped pecans
1 1/2 lb apples, peeled and chopped (I used galas)
3 c all-purpose flour
1 c granulated sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 c canola oil
3/4 c unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
FOR THE PRALINE FROSTING:
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c butter
3 Tbsp milk
1 c confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla
additional pecans for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 14-cup bundt pan.
  • 2. Start by toasting your pecans in the oven for 8 - 10 minutes or until fragrant. Be sure to toss half way through cooking time. Set aside when they are done.
  • 3. Prepare filling: Beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in egg, vanilla, and flour and mix until smooth. Set aside.
  • 4. Prepare cake: In the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, beat sugars, canola oil, and applesauce. Add in the eggs, one by one. Stir in vanilla.
  • 5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, spices, salt and baking soda.
  • 6. Working in batches, add this to your wet mixture.
  • 7. Remove bowl from mixer and fold in pecans and apples.
  • 8. Baking: Place 2/3 of the batter into the bundt pan. Spoon in the cream cheese mixture and, using a paring knife, swirl around to incorporate evenly. Be sure to leave about an inch border, so that the cream cheese does not leak out while baking.
  • 9. Place the remaining 1/3 of the batter on top.
  • 10. Bake for 60 - 75 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • 11. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  • 12. Frosting the cake: Bring brown sugar, butter, and milk to a boil in a small saucepan, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Be careful, as mixture will bubble up violently!
  • 13. Gradually whisk in confectioners' sugar. Allow mixture to harden slightly and pour over completely cooled cake. Garnish with additional pecans, if desired.

CARAMEL-APPLE BUNDT® CAKE

Caramel-Apple Bundt® Cake image

When we prepared our Thanksgiving meal, my family and I decided to try my caramel-apple Bundt® cake recipe for once, and it turned out great! The drizzle you use can really bring out thankfulness! For more festive cakes, use a multi-colored glaze.

Provided by futurechef123

Time 1h15m

Yield 14

Number Of Ingredients 18

1 large apple - peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
1 teaspoon corn syrup, or to taste
1 cup powdered sugar
⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
⅓ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup milk
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup white sugar
1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
4 tablespoons crushed almonds

Steps:

  • Place apple chunks into a pot and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, add corn syrup, and cook until water has reduced, about 3 minutes. Pour off water and set softened apple aside.
  • While apple is cooking, prepare glaze: Mix powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla together in a bowl; stir until desired viscosity. Set aside in a place where it will keep warm.
  • Prepare caramel topping: Mix brown sugar and white sugar together in a bowl. Mix oil, milk, and corn syrup together in a second bowl.
  • Place a medium saucepan over low heat. Alternate pouring in the dry and liquid mixtures, starting and ending with the dry. Cook and stir until boiling. Continue to cook and stir until caramel is about as viscous as pudding. Remove from the heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®).
  • Prepare cake batter: Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together in a mixing bowl. Pour in melted butter, eggs, and softened, drained apple. Blend with a hand mixer, going from low speed to medium-high and back to low to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  • Pour almost all of the batter into the prepared pan, leaving a very small amount for swirling. Randomly spoon caramel on top of the cake batter, then pour remaining cake batter on top. Drag a knife across the surface of the caramel and cake batter to create a swirling effect.
  • Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Tap the pan firmly a few times and gently shake to loosen cake. Invert cake onto a plate, then immediately drizzle glaze on top and sprinkle with crushed almonds.

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 box yellow pillsbury cake mix, butter recipe, made according to package directions.
1 can of apple pie filling, (dice the apples in the filling)
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
rum icing recipe
2 tablespoons butter
2 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 to 1 teaspoon rum extract
Steps:
  • 1. Cook's Tip: I found that in my oven, it took about 50 minutes for the cake to get done. I tented it with foil to slow the browning. Check with a tooth pick in the middle and if it comes clean, it is done. Cake will pull away from the sides of the pan.
  • 2. PREPARE THE CAKE: In a large mixing bowl, place the cake mix and the ingredients according to the directions on the box, add the walnuts. Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan. Pour the batter in the pan. Dice the apples in the pie filling into small pieces, and spoon the filling evenly over the batter. Don't push it down.
  • 3. BAKE THE CAKE: Place the cake in the oven and bake according to the package directions. Note that it may take more time than indicated because of the addition of the pie filling. Use the toothpick test to check if it is done. Cool the cake 15 minutes, make sure it is loose, and then turn over on a foil lined tray. Cool completely before icing. Enjoy!
  • 4. RUM ICING RECIPE: Bring the following to room temperature 2 tablespoons of butter 2 ounces of cream cheese 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of rum extract (taste at 1/2 teaspoon to make sure it isn't too strong) With an electric mixer and small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, extract, and butter until well mixed, and then add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. If it is too thick, add a half teaspoon of water and mix well. Spoon the mixture into a small plastic ziplock bag, close it and get the air out, and then snip the corner of the bag and ice the cake.
Apple bundt cake is a classic dessert made with fresh apples, which provide a sweet and juicy burst of flavor in every bite. However, making the perfect apple bundt cake can be tricky, as the balance of ingredients, cooking time, and baking techniques are all critical to its success. In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips to help you make the most delicious apple bundt cake recipes possible.
Choose the Right Apples
The choice of apples is crucial when making apple bundt cake. You need to select fresh apples that are firm and crunchy because they will provide a sweet and juicy crunch in every bite. Some of the best apple varieties for baking are Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Braeburn, and Fuji. These apples are perfect because they all have a firm flesh texture that does not turn mushy while baking.
Peel and Core the Apples
Before you start mixing the batter, make sure you peel and core the apples. Peeling them removes the tough outer layer that can cause a chewy texture in your cake. Coring them removes the hard core and seeds which may affect the texture and taste of your cake.
Grate the Apples
Grating the apples instead of dicing or chopping them is an excellent technique to enhance the sweetness and juiciness of your cake. Grating the apples also allows them to mix well with the batter and combine with other ingredients evenly. When using grated apples in your cake recipe, make sure to press out any excess liquid to prevent your cake from becoming too moist.
Choose the Right Pan
The pan you use to bake your apple bundt cake is crucial because it will affect the shape and texture of your cake. It is recommended to use a non-stick bundt cake pan because of its unique shape and non-stick surface. This pan allows the cake to cook evenly and release quickly, making it easier to remove the cake from the pan without breaking it into pieces. You can also use a silicone bundt cake pan as it doesn't stick, making it very easy for you to remove your cake without breaking it.
Prep the Pan
Before adding the batter, you need to prep the pan properly. You can do this by brushing the inside of the pan with melted butter or cooking spray. Then, sprinkle some flour or cinnamon sugar in the pan to prevent your cake from sticking to the pan. This also adds a little extra flavor to your cake during baking.
Measure Ingredients Accurately
To get the best results, you need to measure ingredients accurately. Measuring and weighing each ingredient carefully ensures that you're using the right amount in your recipe. Baking is a science, so any changes in the measurement of ingredients can affect the taste, texture, and quality of your cake.
Room Temperature Ingredients
For a smooth and well-mixed apple bundt cake batter, it is advisable to use room temperature eggs, butter, and milk. Room temperature ingredients mix better and create a lighter cake batter. Allow your ingredients to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before you start preparing your batter.
Avoid Over-Mixing the Batter
Over-mixing your batter can cause the cake to be dense and heavy. Mix the ingredients together until they are just combined. You will notice the batter is relatively thick, and this is okay. It usually takes about 2-3 minutes to mix the batter. Over-mixing will cause the cake recipe to lose its delicate texture, resulting in a dense and rubbery cake.
Use Cornstarch in Place of Part of the Flour
You can use cornstarch in place of some of the flour to create a tender and light apple bundt cake. Generally, you can replace 2 tablespoons of flour with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch for every 1 cup of flour in your recipe. This substitution will result in a cake with a finer crumb and a more delicate texture, making it easier to eat.
Add Spices and Flavors
Adding spices and flavors is a great way to enhance the taste of your apple bundt cake. You can use some common spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove altogether or use them separately. Adding vanilla extract, almond extract or lemon zest will also give your cake a delicious flavor.
Bake your Cake
Preheat your oven to 350°F or 180°C. Fill the prepped bundt pan with the apple cake batter and smooth the top. Bake the cake at the middle rack of the oven for about 50-55 minutes - you can test for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean, your apple bundt cake is ready.
Cooling and Serving
After taking the cake out of the oven, allow it to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before removing it on a wire rack. Once the cake is out of the pan, allow it to cool completely before adding frosting or decorations. You can also serve your apple bundt cake with a dollop of whipped cream on top or a sprinkle of confectioner's sugar.
Conclusion
Apple bundt cake is a classic dessert that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Choosing the right apples, measuring ingredients accurately, and mixing the batter correctly are all critical to the success of your cake. With these valuable tips, you'll be well on your way to making the perfect apple bundt cakes every time.
