To replicate that authentic flavor, it’s important to find the right combination of spices to give your chili that signature kick. Not only do these add flavor and texture, but they also up the nutritional value of your chili.

TIP 4: Use canned beans for convenience

Wendy’s chili famously uses canned beans, and there’s no shame in taking a shortcut here. Canned beans are an easy and convenient way to bulk up your chili without having to soak or cook dried beans. However, you can still mix up the types of beans you use, such as kidney beans, pinto beans, or black beans to add variation to the texture and flavor.

TIP 5: Simmer the chili for a rich, flavorful broth

The key to any good chili is simmering it low and slow. Wendy’s chili is famous for its rich and flavorful broth, which is achieved by letting it simmer for hours on the stove. This allows the flavors to meld together and creates a thick and hearty texture. Be sure to stir periodically and add more liquid as necessary to keep the chili from drying out.
