OLD BAY® SHRIMP AND PASTA ALFREDO

Old Bay® Shrimp and Pasta Alfredo image

This recipe came from my Italian family. It is not only delicious but so quick and easy. Measurements really aren't necessary--make it your own. You can't go wrong with too much seasoning or too little. Go easy on the lemon is my only recommendation. Unless you love lemon! Adding Parmesan cheese is really delish and the Alfredo sauce gives it a nice hot and creamy texture.

The dish is rich in nutrients and has an exquisite taste that leaves you wanting more. In this article, we will provide valuable tips that will help you prepare a delicious angel hair pasta and crab with Alfredo sauce recipe.

Ingredients

Before we delve into the tips, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the ingredients. The primary ingredients in this recipe include crab, angel hair pasta, and Alfredo sauce. Other ingredients include butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. It is essential to ensure that you have all the ingredients before you begin preparing the dish.
Tip 1: Use Fresh Ingredients
When making the angel hair pasta and crab with Alfredo sauce recipe, it is essential to use fresh ingredients. Fresh crab meat has a unique flavor that cannot be replicated with frozen meat. Also, fresh ingredients tend to have a better texture and are more nutritious. Using fresh garlic, for example, adds more flavor to the dish than using powdered garlic.
Tip 2: Prepare the Crab Correctly
Proper preparation of the crab is critical to the success of the recipe. Firstly, ensure that the crab is fully cooked before adding it to the pasta. Overcooking or undercooking the crab will affect the flavor and texture of the dish. Secondly, remove the shell and cartilage from the crab before cooking it. These parts are not edible and can ruin the dish's texture.
Tip 3: Cook the Pasta Correctly
Angel hair pasta should be cooked for about 3-4 minutes in boiling water. Overcooking can make the pasta mushy and affect its texture. Also, make sure that the pasta is not undercooked as it would be hard and chewy. Drain the cooked pasta and rinse it with cold water to prevent it from sticking together. Add a small amount of olive oil to the pasta to prevent it from sticking.
Tip 4: Make the Alfredo Sauce from Scratch
Alfredo sauce is a creamy sauce made from butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. It is easy to make the sauce from scratch, and it has a better flavor than pre-made sauces. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat, add garlic, and cook for two minutes. Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer before adding Parmesan cheese. Stir the sauce until the cheese has melted and keep stirring until the sauce thickens.
Tip 5: Season the Dish Correctly
To get the perfect flavor for the dish, it is crucial to season it correctly. Add salt and pepper to taste while cooking the pasta, crab, and Alfredo sauce. It is essential to keep in mind that Parmesan cheese adds saltiness to the dish; therefore, it's good to be mindful of the amount of salt you add. Finally, sprinkle some fresh parsley on top of the finished dish to add some color and freshness.
Tip 6: Serve the Dish Correctly
The final step is to serve the dish correctly. Transfer the cooked pasta to a large bowl, add the cooked crab, and pour the Alfredo sauce over the pasta. Toss the pasta until it is evenly coated with the sauce. You can also add some grated Parmesan cheese on top. Serve the dish hot and enjoy your delicious angel hair pasta and crab with Alfredo sauce.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the angel hair pasta and crab with Alfredo sauce recipe is a dish that can be enjoyed by everyone. Following the tips provided in this article will enable you to prepare a delicious and nutritious dish. Make sure to use fresh ingredients, prepare the crab correctly, cook the pasta correctly, make the Alfredo sauce from scratch, season the dish correctly, and serve the dish correctly.
