Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
1 pinch Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's®), or to taste
1 tablespoon water, or as needed

Steps:

  • Preheat convection oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle both sides with salt and Creole seasoning. Place chicken in a broiler pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip chicken and cook until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Remove chicken from pan. Pour water into the pan, while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Add more water if needed to dislodge the browned bits; serve alongside chicken.

THE BEST BAKED CHICKEN BREASTS

The Best Baked Chicken Breasts image

The downfall of most baked chicken breast recipes is the long time in the oven that dries out the lean meat before it can fully cook through. We've solved that problem with a couple of secret weapons. The first is white wine added to the baking dish, which creates steam. (While we think it's worth using wine, you could substitute stock or even water.) The second is a piece of parchment paper placed directly on top of the chicken to lock in the moisture during baking. The result is the best boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are plump and juicy, with a minimum of hands-on time. A bunch of parsley and lemon slices infuse the dish with fresh flavor and the seasoning is neutral enough that the chicken can be used for a variety of different meals. Serve it alongside vegetables and grains, shredded into soup, spiced up for tacos or chopped on top of salad. Feel free to switch up the herbs and citrus if you have leftovers in the fridge to use up.

Chicken is a versatile protein that can be cooked in various ways. Baked chicken is a popular and healthy option for those who want to avoid fried foods. Amy's amazing baked chicken breast recipe offers a delicious and quick way to prepare chicken. In this article, we will provide valuable tips on how to make the perfect baked chicken breasts using Amy's recipe.

Choosing the right chicken breasts

The first step to making delicious chicken breasts is selecting the right type of chicken. For this recipe, it is best to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. This type of chicken is lean and will not require as much cooking time as chicken with bones or skin. Choose chicken breasts that are fresh and not frozen, as frozen chicken tends to be tougher and can alter the taste of the dish.

Marinating the chicken

Marinating the chicken is essential to ensuring that it is moist and delicious. Amy's recipe calls for marinating the chicken in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and spices. You can use this mixture or create your own. Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes before baking to allow all the flavors to seep into the meat.
Tip:
To help the marinade penetrate the chicken, use a fork to poke small holes all over the chicken breasts.

Seasoning the chicken

In addition to marinating the chicken, seasoning is also a crucial step. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and any additional spices or herbs of your choice. Be sure to season both sides of the chicken evenly.
Tip:
If you like spicy food, add some chili powder or cayenne pepper to your seasoning mixture.

Baking the chicken

When baking the chicken, it is important to ensure that it is cooked all the way through. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and place the chicken in a baking dish. Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tip:
To prevent the chicken from drying out, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil while it is cooking.

Adding ingredients

Amy's recipe calls for adding onions and mushrooms to the chicken while it is baking. You can use this recipe or add your own ingredients. Some popular options include bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, or broccoli. Add your chosen ingredients to the chicken about 10-15 minutes before it is finished cooking.
Tip:
If you are using vegetables that release a lot of moisture, such as zucchini or tomatoes, be sure to drain them before adding them to the chicken.

Serving the chicken

Once the chicken is finished cooking, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the chicken, making it more tender and flavorful. Slice the chicken and serve it alongside your favorite side dishes.
Tip:
For a low-carb option, serve the chicken with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.

Cleaning up

After enjoying your delicious baked chicken, it is important to clean up properly. Remove any leftover chicken from the baking dish and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Clean the baking dish with hot, soapy water or place it in the dishwasher.
Tip:
To make cleaning up even easier, line the baking dish with aluminum foil before adding the chicken. This will prevent the chicken from sticking to the dish and will make it easy to discard any remaining marinade or spices.

Conclusion

By following these valuable tips, you can make the perfect baked chicken breasts using Amy's amazing recipe. Remember to choose the right type of chicken, marinate and season it properly, and bake it to the correct temperature. Add your favorite ingredients and serve it alongside your ideal side dish. Finally, don't forget to clean up properly! With these tips, you can enjoy delicious and healthy baked chicken breasts any time.
