Almond macaroon cherry pie recipes are a unique take on traditional cherry pie. The recipe combines the nutty flavor of almonds with the sweet taste of cherries, creating a mouth-watering dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The pie is easy to make and can be customized to suit individual preferences. In this article, we will discuss the almond macaroon cherry pie recipe and its variations.

What is almond macaroon cherry pie?

Almond macaroon cherry pie is a dessert that combines the flavors of almond and cherry. It consists of a pie crust filled with a mixture of cherries, almond paste, and coconut macaroons. The pie is then baked until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The result is a sweet and nutty pie that is heavenly!

How to make almond macaroon cherry pie:

To make almond macaroon cherry pie, you will need the following ingredients: - 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade) - 1 cup almond paste - 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted) - 1 cup coconut macaroons - 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 1/4 cup cornstarch - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1/4 cup cold water - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and prick the bottom of the crust several times with a fork. 3. In a large bowl, mix together the almond paste, cherries, and coconut macaroons. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Add the mixture to the bowl with the almond paste and cherries, and toss to coat the fruit. 5. Pour the fruit mixture into the pie crust. 6. In a small bowl, mix together the cold water and butter. Drizzle the mixture over the top of the fruit mixture. 7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. 8. Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Variations:

- Cherry Almond Coconut Pie Bars: Instead of making a pie, you can make bars using the same ingredients. Simply line a baking sheet with parchment paper, press the crust into the bottom of the pan, and bake for 15 minutes. Then, add the filling and continue baking for another 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set. Let it cool and cut into bars. - Almond Cherry Galette: This is a free-form tart that is easier to make than a traditional pie. Roll out the pie crust into a circle and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add the filling in the center, leaving a 2-3 inch border. Fold the edges of the crust over the filling, leaving the center exposed. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. - Almond Cherry Crumble: Make the filling as described in the recipe, but instead of using a pie crust, top the filling with a crumble made of butter, flour, sugar, and almond paste. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown.

Conclusion:

Almond macaroon cherry pie recipes are a delicious twist on traditional cherry pie. The nutty flavor of the almonds complements the sweetness of the cherries, making it a perfect dessert for any occasion. With its simple ingredients and easy preparation, this pie is sure to become a favorite in your household. Valuable Tips for Making Almond Macaroon Cherry Pie Recipes

If you love pies, then you'll definitely want to try making an almond macaroon cherry pie. This dessert is both delicious and unique, and as long as you follow some simple tips, you can create an amazing pie of your very own. Here are some valuable tips for making almond macaroon cherry pie recipes:
Make Sure to Choose the Right Ingredients
To create the perfect almond macaroon cherry pie, you need to choose the right ingredients. Make sure that you have quality cherries that are in season, and use high-quality almond paste or ground almonds for the macaroon topping. Also, ensure that you have fresh butter that's been chilled, so that it's easy to cut into small pieces.
Use a Pre-made Pie Crust for Convenience
Using a pre-made pie crust can save you time and effort, while still producing a delicious result. You can choose a traditional pie crust, or for added flavor, try using a graham cracker or shortbread cookie pie crust.
Drain Your Cherries Thoroughly
When using cherries in pie recipes, it's important to drain them thoroughly before adding them to the filling. This will prevent excess juice from accumulating inside the pie, and will help ensure a more evenly cooked pie. To drain, simply place the cherries in a strainer and let them sit for a few minutes, pressing gently to remove any excess liquid.
Spread Almond Macaroon Topping Evenly
When adding the almond macaroon topping to your cherry pie, spread it evenly across the surface. This will ensure that each slice of the pie has the same amount of almond flavor and texture. Use a spatula or knife to carefully spread the topping in an even layer.
Bake Your Pie at the Right Temperature and for the Right Length of Time
To ensure that your almond macaroon cherry pie turns out perfectly, it's important to bake it at the right temperature and for the right amount of time. Generally, cherry pies should be baked at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for around 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. However, you should always follow the specific recipe you're using, as cooking times and temperatures can vary.
Allow Your Pie to Cool Before Serving
Once your almond macaroon cherry pie is out of the oven, it can be tempting to dig right in. However, it's important to allow your pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the filling set properly and will ensure that the pie retains its shape when you cut into it.
Store Your Pie Correctly
If you have any leftover almond macaroon cherry pie, it's important to store it properly to maintain its freshness and flavor. Simply cover the pie with plastic wrap or foil and place it in the refrigerator. It should keep for up to three days, and you can reheat individual slices in the microwave or oven when you're ready to eat them.
Experiment with Different Variations
While almond macaroon cherry pie is delicious on its own, it can also be fun to experiment with different variations. For example, you could add a layer of chocolate or caramel to the pie before adding the topping, or you could try using different fruits like blueberries or raspberries instead of cherries. Don't be afraid to get creative and try new things – you never know what delicious new recipe you might come up with!

Conclusion

Almond macaroon cherry pie is a unique and delicious dessert that's perfect for any occasion. By following these valuable tips, you can create a pie that's both beautiful and tasty, and that your family and friends will love. So the next time you're in the kitchen whipping up a batch of pie dough, consider giving this recipe a try – it might just become your new favorite dessert!
