Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup White Sugar
1 cup Butter
1 cup Peanut Butter
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 cup Rolled Oats
2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Butter
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
6 Tablespoon Milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the brown sugar, white sugar, butter, and peanut butter.
  • Add the eggs, salt, baking soda, rolled oats, and flour. Blend until until it is all mixed together.
  • Spread on a large 15x9 inch pan. Bake for 15 minutes, no longer, and let cool completely.
  • After cooled spread a thin layer of peanut butter on top of the cookie. I use about 1/2 cup and soften it in the microwave so it is easier to spread.
  • For the frosting, melt butter and add the cocoa. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Mix together very well and spread the final frosting layer on the very top. Also I have found that if you let the bars chill with the frosting in the fridge for an hour, the frosting will set up faster so that you can consume them quicker. :)

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2½ cups peanut butter (divided)
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup butter (softened)
¼ cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar together.
  • Add vanilla, eggs, and 1 cup of the peanut butter; stir to combine.
  • Add oats, flour, baking soda and salt and mix until well combined.
  • Spray a baking sheet (half sheet jelly roll pan that is approximately 17.8 x 12.8 x 1 inch) with nonstick cooking spray and spread out dough in an even layer.
  • Bake for 15 minutes and remove from oven.
  • Drop remaining peanut butter (about 1 1/2 cups) by very small spoonfuls (we use a baby spoon) all over on top of warm bars. Let set for about 5-6 minutes and gently spread when peanut butter has begun to melt. It will spread easily when the peanut butter has softened on the warm bars. Don't try to spread it while still thick.
  • Then let the bars cool until peanut butter has set up.
  • While cooling, mix together frosting ingredients with a hand mixer until smooth and spread on top of bars.
  • Cut into bars and serve.

Peanut butter bars are one of the most wonderful treats on earth! Whether you have a love for sweets or just that subtle nutty flavor, these bars are one of the best things you can eat. These bars are so easy to make, and their mouth-watering and rich flavor cannot be beaten. However, to achieve the best-ever peanut butter bars, there are some tips you need to keep in mind. Here are some valuable tips for making the best peanut butter bars ever.

Tip 1: Use High-Quality Peanut Butter

The essence of peanut butter bars is, of course, peanut butter. Using low-quality peanut butter can ruin the entire recipe. For the best results, always use high-quality peanut butter. A good brand of natural peanut butter usually has fewer ingredients than regular peanut butter, and it is free from added sugars and salts. This type of peanut butter will help make your bars much more flavorful.

Tip 2: Choose The Right Type Of Flour

Using the right type of flour is also crucial in obtaining the perfect peanut butter bars. Using all-purpose flour is the best option since this type of flour is versatile and can work with any recipe. To add flavor and texture, you can also use pastry flour.

Tip 3: Use High-Quality Chocolate Chips

Using high-quality chocolate chips can also take your peanut butter bars to the next level. Ensure that you use a good quality chocolate brand that is suited for baking. You can also customize the recipe by using dark, milk, or white chocolate chips based on your personal preference.

Tip 4: Add Texture To Your Bars

For a perfect bite, it is essential to add texture to your peanut butter bars. You can add chopped nuts, such as peanuts, walnuts, or pecans. Alternatively, you can use rolled oats to add texture to your bars. A combination of these ingredients can significantly enhance the flavor and texture of your bars.

Tip 5: Experiment With Different Sweeteners

Experimenting with different sweeteners is another way to make your peanut butter bars unique. You can use brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, or a combination of these sweeteners. Using brown sugar gives your bars a caramel-like flavor, while honey adds an extra depth of flavor.

Tip 6: Use A Glass Baking Dish

Using a glass baking dish is ideal for peanut butter bars since it can help distribute heat evenly, and it is easy to clean. Ensure that you grease the dish well so that your bars do not stick to the dish.

Tip 7: Let Your Bars Cool Before Cutting

Once your peanut butter bars are out of the oven, let them cool for at least 20-30 minutes before cutting. This allows the bars to set and will prevent them from crumbling when they are cut. It also ensures that you have clean cuts, which is essential when serving your bars.

Tip 8: Add A Pinch Of Salt

Adding a pinch of salt to your peanut butter bars can bring out the flavors better. Salt also balances out the sweetness in the bars, creating a perfect balance between the sweet and salty flavors.

Tip 9: Use Foil Or Parchment Paper

Using foil or parchment paper makes the cleanup process easier, and it also ensures that the bars come out of the pan easily. Ensure that you leave some extra foil or parchment paper hanging from the edges of the pan to make removing the bars much easier.

Tip 10: Store Your Bars Properly

Properly storing your peanut butter bars is essential in ensuring they last long and maintain their freshness. Store your bars in an airtight container, and keep them in a cool, dry place. If you live in a warm climate, store them in the refrigerator to prolong their lifespan.
Conclusion
There you have it, ten valuable tips for making the best-ever peanut butter bars. Always remember that using high-quality ingredients is essential to creating delicious and flavorful bars. Keep experimenting with different ingredients until you find your perfect recipe. Most importantly, have fun cooking and baking, and enjoy your delicious peanut butter bars!
