Time 45m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

12 ounces ground beef
1 tablespoon yellow mustard, plus more for serving
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 cups shredded American cheese (about 8 ounces)1/4 whole dill pickle, sliced into thin rounds
1/4 small red onion, finely diced, then rinsed and drained
Ketchup, for serving
Shredded lettuce, for serving, optional

Steps:

  • Place a baking stone or inverted large baking sheet on the lowest rack of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.
  • Cook the beef in a medium skillet over medium heat just until no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the beef to paper towels to drain and let cool 5 minutes. Put the cooled beef in a bowl, stir in the mustard to coat and sprinkle with some salt and pepper.
  • Dust a sheet of parchment paper set on a pizza peel or inverted baking sheet with some flour. Stretch the pizza dough into a round (12 inches for thick or 14 inches for thinner) on the parchment and brush the edge of the round with the oil, then sprinkle it with the sesame seeds. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Top with the beef, then sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheese over the beef.
  • Slide the pizza off the parchment onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board, arrange the pickle slices evenly over the pizza then sprinkle with the onions. Drizzle mustard and ketchup over the pizza and serve while hot with shredded lettuce on the side.

All-American Cheeseburger Pizza Recipes: A Classic Twist on a Classic Favorite

If you're a fan of both cheeseburgers and pizza, then you're in luck - the all-American cheeseburger pizza recipe is here to satisfy your cravings for both. This dish takes the best elements of a classic cheeseburger - juicy meat, melted cheese, and crisp toppings - and adds them to a pizza crust for a unique and delicious experience that's perfect for any occasion.

The Basics of an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza

While there are many variations on the all-American cheeseburger pizza - some with bacon, some with onions or mushrooms - there are a few key elements that are present in every recipe:

  • A pizza crust, either homemade or store-bought
  • Ground beef or ground turkey, seasoned with classic burger flavors like onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  • A sauce made from ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, or a bolder twist such as BBQ sauce or hot sauce
  • A blend of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, melted over the top of the pizza
  • Chopped toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and pickles, added after the pizza has been baked
Recipe Variations

While the basic elements of an all-American cheeseburger pizza remain the same, there are countless ways to switch up this classic recipe to make it your own. Here are a few recipe variations to consider:

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

This variation adds the salty, smoky flavor of bacon to the classic cheeseburger pizza. Simply cook some bacon until crispy, crumble it over the top of the pizza, and bake as usual.

Mushroom Swiss Cheeseburger Pizza

For a more sophisticated twist on the cheeseburger pizza, try adding sautéed mushrooms and shredded Swiss cheese to the mix. This gives the pizza a savory, earthy flavor that pairs perfectly with the seasoned beef and tangy sauce.

Southwest Cheeseburger Pizza

To give your cheeseburger pizza a little extra kick, try swapping out the traditional ketchup and mustard sauce for a spicy BBQ sauce or hot sauce. Top with sliced jalapeños, roasted red peppers, and a sprinkle of cumin for a southwestern twist.

Italian Cheeseburger Pizza

If you're looking for a way to combine two of your favorite cuisines, try adding some Italian touches to your cheeseburger pizza. Swap out the cheddar cheese for mozzarella, add some sliced pepperoni or salami, and sprinkle some oregano and basil over the top of the pizza before baking.

Tips for Making the Perfect Cheeseburger Pizza

Whether you're a seasoned cook or a beginner in the kitchen, here are a few tips to help you make the perfect all-American cheeseburger pizza:

  • Precook your beef: to ensure that your cheeseburger pizza bakes evenly and doesn't get soggy, it's important to cook your beef thoroughly before adding it to the pizza. Drain off any excess fat and let the beef cool slightly before topping the pizza.
  • Choose your toppings wisely: while you can add just about anything to your cheeseburger pizza, remember that too many toppings can overwhelm the flavors of the beef and cheese. Stick to 2-3 toppings that complement the classic cheeseburger flavors.
  • Bake on a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet: if you want a perfectly crisp crust, preheat your baking surface in the oven before assembling the pizza. This will help the crust cook evenly and avoid any soggy spots.
  • Let the pizza cool slightly before cutting: while it can be tempting to slice right into your hot, cheesy pizza, it's best to let it cool for a few minutes before cutting. This will help the cheese set and prevent the toppings from sliding off the pizza.
Conclusion

If you're looking to combine two classic dishes into one, then the all-American cheeseburger pizza is the perfect recipe for you. With endless variations and plenty of room to get creative with your toppings and sauces, this pizza is sure to satisfy your cravings for both cheeseburgers and pizza. So fire up the oven, gather your favorite toppings, and get ready to enjoy the delicious fusion of two of America's favorite foods.

If you are a fan of classic All-American cheeseburgers, you will be glad to hear that you can now combine your favorite fast food with another popular meal: pizza. Cheeseburger pizzas have become increasingly popular in recent years, as they offer a tasty and satisfying combination of two all-time classic foods. If you are planning on making an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza at home, here are some valuable tips that can help you make the perfect pizza.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Cheese

When making an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza, the choice of cheese is crucial. You want a cheese that is both melty and flavorful. Cheddar cheese is the most popular choice for cheeseburger pizzas, but you can experiment with other types such as Monterey Jack, Gouda, or Swiss. For best results, use a combination of two or three cheeses to achieve the perfect taste and texture.

Tip 2: Use Quality Ground Beef

The quality of the ground beef you use in your cheeseburger pizza can make or break the taste of the dish. You want beef that is lean, juicy, and flavorful. Some grocery stores sell pre-packaged ground beef that is labeled as “hamburger” instead of “ground beef.” Choose the latter as it is typically made from a higher quality cut of meat.

Tip 3: Pre-Cook the Beef

To avoid soggy pizza crusts, pre-cook the ground beef before adding it to the pizza. This will ensure that the beef is cooked all the way through and that any excess fat has been drained off. Fry or grill the beef until it’s browned and crumbled, then drain it off any excess moisture before adding it to the pizza.

Tip 4: Choose the Right Crust

The crust is a crucial part of any pizza, and the All-American Cheeseburger Pizza is no exception. You want a crust that is not too thick or too thin, with just the right amount of crunch. You can choose between a store-bought crust, a pre-made dough, or make your own from scratch. However, keep in mind that a thin crust is a better option as it won't weigh down the toppings and will let the beef and cheese shine.

Tip 5: Add a Touch of Tomato Sauce

While traditional cheeseburgers do not have tomato sauce, adding a thin layer of tomato sauce on your pizza can help enhance the flavor and keep the toppings in place. Be sure to only use a small amount, so the sauce doesn't overpower the cheese and beef.

Tip 6: Add the Toppings in the Right Order

The order in which you layer the toppings on the pizza can affect how well the cheese melts and how much each ingredient sticks to the crust. Start by spreading a thin layer of tomato sauce, followed by the cooked ground beef. Then, add diced onions, sliced pickles, and crumbled bacon, if you like. Finally, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.

Tip 7: Add Condiments After Baking

Condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise are usually added after a cheeseburger is cooked. The same applies to an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza. You can drizzle ketchup or mustard on the completed pizza, or serve it on the side to use as a dipping sauce.

Tip 8: Bake at the Right Temperature

The ideal temperature for baking an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza is between 450 to 475°F. This will ensure that the cheese melts perfectly and the crust is crispy but not burnt. Bake the pizza until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown which will take around 10-12 minutes.

Tip 9: Let the Pizza Rest Before Serving

Once your pizza is done, it can be hard to resist digging in right away. However, letting the pizza rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving will help the cheese set, and make it easier to cut and eat.

Tip 10: Customize to Your Heart’s Delight

One of the best things about making your own All-American Cheeseburger Pizza is that you can customize it to your liking. Add more or less of any ingredient as per your taste. You can also add additional toppings such as mushrooms, peppers, or jalapenos for an extra kick.
Conclusion
Making an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza at home requires a bit of preparation and the right ingredients, but the end result is a delicious and satisfying meal that can please everyone. By following these valuable tips, you'll learn how to make a perfect cheeseburger pizza that is full of flavor and loved by all. So, the next time you crave both pizza and cheeseburgers, combine them into one meal and satisfy your craving with an All-American Cheeseburger Pizza.
