Time 9h10m

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 pound pork loin
salt and fresh ground pepper, (to taste)
1 cup 7-Up
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 cloves garlic, (finely minced)
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning blend
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano

Steps:

  • In a large ziploc bag, combine 7-Up, olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and thyme; whisk to combine.
  • Using a knife, pierce the pork loin several times, all around the meat.
  • Add the pork loin to the marinade; seal and marinate in the fridge, overnight. Be sure to marinate for at least 8 hours, and/or up to 24 hours.
  • Preheat a gas grill to medium-high heat; about 375˚F to 400˚F.
  • In the meantime, remove pork loin from marinade; discard marinade.
  • Lightly pat the pork dry with paper towels. Season as desired with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the spice rub.
  • Season the pork loin with the rub all around. You don't have to use up the entire spice rub; adjust to taste.
  • IF your pork loin is not an even thickness, tie it with kitchen twine, spaced 2-inches apart. This will help with even cooking. This step is NOT a must, but it does help.
  • Oil the grill grates with cooking oil.
  • Place pork roast over direct heat and grill, covered, for 4 to 5 minutes on EACH side, or until browned.
  • Then, set roast over indirect heat and grill, covered, for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a meat thermometer registers at 145˚F.
  • Remove pork from the grill and let stand 15 minutes before slicing & serving.

7 UP CHICKEN MARINADE

I stumbled upon this recipe while "stalking" on facebook. lol Can't even remember who to give credit to but it is awesome, thank you whoever you are! Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 c 7 up (little short can is perfect)
1 c wishbone house italian dressing
1 c soy sauce ( i use lite sodium)
1/4 tsp garlic
lb chicken

Steps:

  • 1. I mix all ingredients in a gallon freezer bag. I take boneless skinless chicken breast and filet them in half so they cook more even. I put the chicken in the bag as much as I have left from a family pack.
  • 2. I wiggle the chicken in the bag to get it all covered and I put it in the fridge over night. The next day I cook it for dinner or I freeze it. I am surprised how nice it tastes and keeps even after freezing it.
  • 3. I would be surprised if you don't add this to your weekly menu during the grilling season. I am sure it would cook nicely in a George Foreman grill too. Yummy!
