6 cups coarsely chopped peeled apples (6 medium)
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quarts) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In baking dish, mix chopped apples, sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly in pan. Top with dry cake mix; gently shake pan to distribute evenly. Pour melted butter over top, tilting pan to cover as much of the top with butter as possible.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until top is light golden brown, mostly dry on top and bubbly around edges. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

This is another dump cake variation (see my recipes for a chocolate 3 ingredient one), this one with pineapples, cherries, yellow cake mix and nuts. The best thing about these cakes is that there are no bowls to wash, no mixing and no grief. Just dump it all in the pan and bake!

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix, unprepared
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Dump pineapples with juice and cherry pie filling into a 9 x 13 inch pan and smooth out.
  • Sprinkle cake mix evenly over fruit.
  • Next, sprinkle pecans over all.
  • Drizzle butter over the top.
  • Bake for an hour.
  • Serve in pan.

1/3 cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
1/3 cup white rum
1 package white cake mix (regular size)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup warm water
Whipped cream and maraschino cherries, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Evenly spread coconut, nuts and pineapple in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish; drizzle rum over top. Sprinkle with cake mix. Drizzle with butter and water, Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 45-50 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream and cherries, if desired.

1 (3.9 ounce) package dry pudding mix
1 ½ cups whole milk
½ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Dump cake mix into the prepared baking dish.
  • Dump dry pudding mix on top of the cake mix.
  • Drizzle milk over everything and mix to combine. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of mixture. Distribute butter evenly on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
