The salami in this recipe really adds a delicious flavor. And it's so easy to prepare that you can enjoy a hearty, tasty breakfast any day of the week!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 loaf french bread
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 lb swiss cheese
1/4 lb monterey jack cheese
8 eggs
1 1/3 c milk
1/4 c white wine
2 large green onions
1 tsp prepared mustard
salt and pepper
1 c sour cream
1/2 c parmesan cheese
1/3 c salami, coresly chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Butter 9x13-inch baking dish. Break bread into small pieces and sprinkle in pan. Drizzle with butter. Sprinkle grated cheeses and salami on top.
  • 2. Beat together eggs, milk, wine, mustard, salt, pepper and onion:pour over top. Cover and seal with foil. Refrigerate overnight, or up to 24 hours.
  • 3. Bake, Covered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until set. Uncover and spread with sour cream; sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered 10 minutes longer.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
10 slices white bread
12 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
8 large eggs
3 cups milk
1 small onion, grated
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce

Steps:

  • Butter the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13 inch casserole. Spread softened butter over 1 side of each slice of read. Cut the bread into 1 inch slices. Scatter half of the bread evenly in the prepared dish, sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining bread and cheese.
  • Whisk the eggs in a large bowl until well combined; whick in milk, onion pepper, mustard and hot sauce. Pour over bread mixture. Press down bread to submerge.
  • Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate 8 to 24 hours.
  • Set oven rack to middle of oven, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap casserole and bake until puffed and golden brown, about 1 hour.

1 loaf French bread, large day old (broken in small pieces)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
3/4 lb swiss cheese (shredded)
1/2 lb monterey jack cheese (shredded)
9 slices genoa salami (thinly sliced)
16 eggs
3 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup dry white wine
4 large green onions (minced)
1 tablespoon grainy mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Steps:

  • Spread bread in 2 large( 9x13)buttered casseroles, drizzle with butter, sprinkle with meats & cheeses, not parmesan.Beat together milk, eggs, wine, onion, mustard & spices until foamy. Pour over casseroles, Cover with foil, crimping edges. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove from fridge & let stand for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 325@, baked covered about 1 hour. uncover, spread sour cream & parmesan over all. Bake until crisply & lightly browned- about 10 minutes.

1 loaf jewish egg bread, crust removed (can also use Sheepherders, Sourdough, or any other hard bread)
1/2 cup butter, melted
8 ounces cream cheese
3/4 lb longhorn cheese, grated
8 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon chives
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 dash cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Chunk the bread and place in a well greased casserole dish. Pour melted butter over the bread.
  • Sprinkle the cheeses over top, creamcheese first.
  • Beat the remaining ingredients together and pour over bread.
  • Refrigerate, covered, overnight.
  • Bake, covered, at 325 for 60-75 minutes. Uncover for the last 10 minutes.
  • Variations: Sprinkle cooked, crumbled bacon or sausage on top before pouring the egg mixture. Can also add favorite veggies.
