The non-alcoholic mulled Christmas punch you know and love from the German Christmas markets!

2 cups orange juice
2 cups apple juice
1/2 cup cherry juice ((can substitute more orange or apple juice))
2 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks
10 whole cloves
2 whole star anise
5 bags hibiscus tea
Honey to taste

Steps:

  • To make the Kinderpunsch, simply place all the ingredients except for the honey and tea in a stock pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the tea bags and let them steep, covered, for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add honey to taste. Reheat the punch until hot.
  • Serve hot. Optional garnishes to place in each mug include orange slices, cloves, a star anise or cinnamon stick.

Delicious traditional Christmas Punch of tea, red wine, rum, fresh lemon & orange juice, and spices. Not only for Christmas, but whenever the weather is cold. Serve hot!

4 cups strongly brewed black tea
1 1/4 cups sugar, to taste
4 lemons, juice of
3 oranges, juice of
8 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
2 (750 ml) bottles red wine (choose a full-bodied variety such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, or Merlot)
1 cup golden rum
fresh lemon and orange slice, to garnish

Steps:

  • In a large pot, combine the sugar and the freshly brewed (still hot) tea. Add the lemon juice, orange juice, cloves, and cinnamon stick; stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the red wine. Heat and stir over medium-low heat until just below the boiling point.
  • Meanwhile, gently heat the rum in a small pot (do not boil). Once hot, add to the larger pot and mix together.
  • Remove cloves and cinnamon stick.
  • Ladle into mugs. Serve hot with a fresh lemon or orange slice.

This is a staple of Christmas at our house. My grandma used to make one "spiked" and one "virgin" for us kids, but the kids would always find a way to sneak into the spiked punch!

32 ounces Hawaiian Punch drink or 32 ounces red Juicy Juice Punch
1 ounce frozen orange juice
1 ounce frozen cranberry juice
2 3/4 ounces rum (half light or half dark or choose one)
orange slices or maraschino cherry (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Stir all ingredients together in punch bowl with HALF of the water required as directed on the label for each of the frozen juices.
  • Allow to chill for at least 12 hours.
  • If carbonation desired, add Sprite or Club Soda when serving.
  • Grammy always serves it with an ice ring floating on the top.
