1 spray cooking spray
1 lb lean ground turkey
1/3 cup onion, chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons fennel seeds
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
4 spray(s) olive oil flavored cooking spray
2 small tomatoes
1 cup basil, fresh, leaves
4 reduced-calorie hamburger rolls

Steps:

  • Coat a grill or grill pan with cooking spray; preheat to medium-high.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic, fennel seed, salt and pepper; form into four 1/2-inch-thick patties. Coat burgers and inside of rolls with cooking spray.
  • Grill burgers for 5 minutes; flip burgers and add rolls to grill. Grill open-face rolls until lightly charred, about 1 to 2 minutes; remove to serving plates. Grill burgers until cooked through, about 5 minutes more.
  • To serve, top grilled rolls with burgers and tomato slices; garnish with basil. Yields 1 burger per serving.

Juicy, full of flavour,and not that bad for you either.....!! I sometimes serve these in a low fat flour tortilla that has been quartered..just for a change!

1 lb ground turkey breast
1 small zucchini, shredded
1/2 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup red onion, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise
4 lettuce leaves
4 tomatoes, slices
4 wholewheat hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Combine turkey,zucchini,cheese,onion,salt and pepper in a bowl.Shape into four patties.I wrap mine in cling film,and chill them for 30 mins or so to firm up.
  • Heat a nonstick ridged grill pan over medium low heat.Grill the patties until browned on the outside and no longer pink in the middle (about 7 mins on each side).
  • Whisk together the ketchup and mayp in a small bowl.
  • Layer the lettuce,burgers and tomato in the bottom of the buns,top with ketchup mixture,then the bun tops.
