Easy Watermelon Margaritas image

There's nothing better than a frosty cocktail on a hot day and these easy Watermelon Margaritas are the ultimate refreshing drink.

½ cup tequila
¼ cup Cointreau
5 cups watermelon (cubed )
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
¼-½ cup simple syrup (to taste )
salt (for rims )

Steps:

  • Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  • Cook until the sugar has dissolved then remove from the heat and allow to cool completely. The simple syrup can be kept in the fridge for up to a month in a sealed jar.
  • Combine the cubed watermelon, tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and simple syrup in a blender then blend until smooth.
  • Dip the rims of serving glasses into lime juice and then into salt. Fill the glasses with ice then pour over the Margarita mix.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

A very boozy, adult-only watermelon to liven up your next BBQ. The watermelon is infused with tequila and orange liqueur for 2 days prior to slicing.

1 large seedless watermelon
1 (750 milliliter) bottle tequila
1 (750 milliliter) bottle orange liqueur
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Wash the outside of your watermelon and place it on a plate so that it doesn't roll - you may need to slice off some of the rind to make a flat spot.
  • Trace the lids from the tequila and orange liquor bottles on either side of the melon. Then cut out with a sharp knife. Insert bottles into the watermelon and do not disturb for 48 hours.
  • Remove liquor bottles. Cut watermelon into slices and drizzle with lime juice.

2 medium limes
1/3 cup sugar
8 cups cubed seedless watermelon (1 inch)
2 cups ice cubes
2 cups tequila
1 cup Triple Sec
1/4 cup lime juice

Steps:

  • Cut 1 lime into 12 wedges; reserve for garnishes. If desired, coat the rim of each glass with sugar: Cut remaining lime into wedges. Using these wedges, moisten the rims of 12 margarita or cocktail glasses. Sprinkle sugar on a plate; hold each glass upside down and dip rim into sugar. Discard remaining sugar., Place half the watermelon in a blender; cover and process until pureed (this should yield 3 cups). Add half each of the following: ice cubes, tequila, Triple Sec and lime juice. If desired, add sugar to taste. Cover and process until blended., Serve in prepared glasses. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Garnish with reserved lime wedges.

Icy watermelon wedges with a sweet-sour-tequila punch, these gorgeous party-friendly pops are perfect for staving off summer's heat. A sprinkle of chile powder before serving adds a bonus layer of flavor.

1 small watermelon (about 4 pounds), cut into 1-inch-thick wedges
7 ounces blanco/silver tequila
1/2 cup lime juice, plus lime wedges, for serving
1/2 cup light agave nectar
Chile powder, for serving

Steps:

  • Pierce the rind of each watermelon wedge with the tip of a paring knife to make a 1/2-inch-wide slit that is about 1 inch deep. Combine the tequila, lime juice and agave in an extra-large resealable plastic bag. Add the watermelon, seal the bag and turn it over gently to combine. Refrigerate, turning over once more halfway through, for about 1 hour.
  • Line 2 baking sheets with wax paper. Insert an ice-pop stick into the slit of each watermelon wedge. Put on the prepared baking sheets and freeze until solid, 4 hours to overnight. Serve with lime wedges and chile powder.
