Unusual and interesting recipes in my collection. I love lavender but never thought it would end up on my plate. "Making Rose Water" recipe was post yesterday.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 c butter, softened
1 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp lavender, crushed
1 1/2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
ICING:
2 c powdered sugar
5 1/2 tsp water
6 1/2 tsp rose water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, lavender, flour, baking powder and salt, blend well.
  • 3. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • 4. ICING:
  • 5. While the cookies bake, prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar with water and rose water. Drizzle over cookies after they have cooled completely.

  • Heat up the water until warm, not hot.
  • Put the icing sugar into a small or medium bowl and add water.
  • Mix together until the icing becomes thick enough to coat with a back of a spoon.
  • If necessary, add more water (a drop at a time) until it is thick/ thin enough to use.
