I found this recipe at cooks.com - I had an instant cheesecake in the cupboard that I needed to use, and sent my son to the store for the Twinkies. He really, really liked this dessert - now he makes it for his girlfriend and her family!

10 Hostess Twinkies, split lengthwise
1 (11 1/2 ounce) box instant cheesecake mix
1 2/3 cups milk (or as indicated on the cheesecake mix)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • Spray bundt pan with cooking spray. Press split Twinkies (cake side next to pan) into bundt pan.
  • Make cheesecake according to mix (do not use crumbs). Beat Cool Whip and cream cheese in a separate bowl, then fold into the cheesecake filling.
  • Pour in the middle of the Twinkies.
  • Chill until set; unmold and add cherry pie filling in center.

OMG. I saw this made with strawberries, but I really love blueberries. Of course, I love working with Twinkies. To me, it's like crafting to make a fun, easy, dessert.

1 can(s) blueberry pie filling, or make blueberry compote
10 twinkies, unwrapped
1 pkg cool whip, small
1 pkg instant cheesecake, prepared

Steps:

  • 1. Cut the Twinkies in half lengthwise and lay them in the bottom of a 9 x 9 inch glass square pan.
  • 2. Prepare the box cheese cake and pour over Twinkies.
  • 3. Open the can of blueberry pie filling and pour over cheesecake after it becomes firm.
  • 4. Top this off with a small container of Cool Whip.

1 quart fresh strawberries, diced
1 (13 1/2 ounce) carton strawberry glaze
9 Hostess Twinkies
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mix together the strawberries and glaze; set aside.
  • Slice the Twinkies in half lengthwise; place in an ungreased 13x9 inch baking dish with cream side up.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk with an electric mixer, until smooth; fold in the whipped topping.
  • Spread over the Twinkies.

1 (18.75 ounce) can ready-to-use strawberry glaze
8 Twinkies
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Combine strawberries and glaze in a small bowl.
  • Slice Twinkies in half lengthwise, and place in a single layer over the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and condensed milk until smooth. Fold in whipped topping, and spread mixture over Twinkies. Spoon berries over cream cheese mixture. Cover and chill 30 minutes or more. Refrigerate leftovers.

Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 2 hours before serving, purchase the ready-made glaze for this, if you like a lot of cream topping then use a 12-ounce container of Cool Whip topping, 16 servings is only estimated I can eat this whole cake myself lol! --- see note on bottom for a thinner twinkie crust -- you will *LOVE* this! :)

1 (18 ounce) jar strawberry glaze
16 Hostess Twinkies (purchase a few more just in case you need them)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) container cool whip frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Prepare a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Mix the strawberry slices with the glaze; chill until ready to use.
  • Place the whole twinkies into the bottom of the pan, pressing down slightly (do not slice the twinkies leave in one piece).
  • In a bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed beat softened cream cheese with condensed milk until smooth.
  • Fold in the 8-ounce container using a spatula until combined.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the twinkies.
  • Spoon the berries over the cream cheese mixture.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and chill for a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
  • *NOTE* for a thinner twinkie crust use 8 twinkies and slice in half lengthwise, spread into bottom of the pan.
