TOOTSIE ROLL FUDGE

Tootsie Roll Fudge image

When my husband came home with 50 pounds of Tootsie Rolls he bought at a discount store, I had to figure out a way to use them-so I came up with this recipe! A red or green M&M's candy atop each piece makes them extra jolly.

TOOTSIE ROLL -- THE DRINK

Tootsie Roll -- the Drink image

New Years Eve-- After getting the house sparkling, preparing all the little goodies and beautifully arranged on their trays (only to be devoured later), and getting myself spiffed up as well did my thoughts turn to... what am I going to drink tonight at our annual NYE party. Well, at my husband's insistence I finally tried this particular drink that he had found on "The Professional Bartender" program we have on our pc. Perhaps it helped me help my team win the Women VS. the Men at SCENE IT ( great game for movie buffs), perhaps not.. but I certainly enjoyed the drinks as well as getting my daily dose of Vitamin C!

TOOTSIE ROLL JELLO SHOTS

Tootsie Roll Jello Shots image

Seriously these taste like Tootsie Rolls. Who can say no to a jello shot? This recipe, like all my Jello Shot recipes are not heavy on the alchol. I like my Jello Shots to be unique, have lots of flavor and be tame enough that you can have a couple.

CREME DROP FUDGE / TASTES LIKE TOOTSIE ROLL

Creme Drop Fudge / Tastes Like Tootsie Roll image

I found this recipe while surfing the net. Three ingredients, and a crock pot. I thought it can't get any easier than that! So, I decided to try it. The kids loved it. It definitely tastes like tootsie rolls. When I make this again, and I will...I am going to add nuts inside or on top as cooling. Only because I am used to nuts in fudge. Was my first time trying...I always like to try and stick to the recipe the first time. Now, I can experiment...enjoy! My photos Recipe from: Crock Pot Recipe Exchange

TOOTSIE ROLL CARAMEL CORN

Tootsie Roll Caramel Corn image

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 bags of kettle corn
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup corn syrup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
25 Midgie (small) tootsie rolls

Steps:

  • Pop all three bags of pop corn and pour into a large bowl. Sift out seed as you pour and discard them as no one wants to break a tooth! In a medium non-stick pot add corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, salt and tootsie rolls. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until mixture begins to bubble. Turn heat down so that it simmers but does not splatter you with hot syrup from boiling. Continue to stir and cook until the tootsie rolls have melted. This should not take more than a minute once the mixture is simmering (at most). Remove the mixture from the heat. Add the vanilla, stir, then pour over the popcorn. Stir to coat the popcorn. Allow the caramel to cool to warm and eat. If you prefer a crunchy caramel corn, then on an edged cookie sheet {jelly roll sheet} place a layer of non-stick foil down. Place 1/3 of caramel corn onto foil and spread out. Bake at 200*F for 10 minutes. Remove it from oven and stir. Return to oven and do this 2 more times for a total of 3 baking cycles. After it's done baking, stir one final time and continue to coat and stir your caramel corn ever 3 - 5 minutes as it cools to ensure that your entire pan does not settle into one giant crunchy clump of caramel corn. Continue this method two more times until all the caramel corn has been baked.

TOOTSIE ROLL BITES

Tootsie Roll Bites image

This recipe by Elizabeth LaBau and About.com,inc. These are soft, chewy chocolate taste of the Tootsie Rolls of yesterday- not the ones they sell today. If you like you can roll them in chopped nuts or coconut when finished. These make great gifts. This recipe makes about 90 pieces.

Provided by Pat Duran

Categories     Chocolate

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/2 c light corn syrup (i use karo)
2 Tbsp softened butter
3/4 c powdered milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 to 3 c powdered sugar, sifted

Steps:

  • 1. Melt the chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl or in a double boiler over simmering water. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, stir in the corn syrup and the butter, stirring until the butter is melted. Stir in the powdered MILK and the vanilla.
  • 2. Add one cup of the powdered sugar and stir until it is incorporated. Once that sugar is mixed in, add a second cup of powdered sugar and stir to mix. At this point the dough will start getting stiff and it might be difficult to stir more powdered sugar into the candy.
  • 3. Dust a flat surface with powdered sugar, and knead the candy until it is smooth. If it is still very soft, knead in more powdered sugar until it is firm but not dry and crumbly. Your might need up to 3 cups of powdered sugar total.
  • 4. Once the tootsie roll candy is smooth and has a firm but supple texture, break off a palm-sized piece and roll it into a long, thin rope. Using a sharp knife, cut it into small pieces and place them on a baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used up.
  • 5. Refrigerate on tray until they firm up about 1 hour. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 weeks-best to wrap each piece in plastic wrap so they don't stick together from condensation from the refrigerator. Bring to room temp before serving.

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tsp butter
2 Tbsp butter, divided
2 Tbsp peanut butter
3 3/4 c confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c ground nuts
m&m candies (red and green for christmas or yellow and orange for halloween)
2 c tootsie roll midgets.

Steps:

  • 1. Line a 9-in. square pan with foil. Grease the foil with 1 teaspoon butter; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, melt the Tootsie Rolls, peanut butter and remaining butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla (mixture will be very thick). Fold in pecans. It may be so thick and hard to work with you think you did somehting wrong but don't worry. It is supposed to be that way. I do not use foil when I use aluminun pans.
  • 2. Spread into prepared pan. Using a sharp knife, score the surface into 1-in. squares. Press a M&M's candy into the center of each square. Cool. Using foil, remove fudge from pan; cut into squares. Store in an airtight container. Yield: about 2 pounds.
