TONY HORTON'S STICKY BARS

Well, my husband has started a program called P90X and I have been given several cookbooks that he wants me cooking from so I picked out this snack to make for him today. It is a powerhouse snack that is packed with protein and will give you a boost of energy too. Hope you enjoy this healthy snack.

1/2 medium sized banana
1/4 c chunky peanut butter(organic and natural, without hydrogenated oils) or natural almond butter
1 c unsweetened granola
wax paper

Steps:

  • 1. Mix and mash the peanut butter, banana and granola in a bowl until it is well blended. (Almond butter adds extra protein and a unique flavor to the bar.)
  • 2. Spoon mixture onto the wax paper. Roll it up as a log and freeze. At least 2 hours.
  • 3. Remove from freezer and unwrap. Slice in half or into slices for a great healthy snack. Nutritional facts: Serving size: 1/2 of bar, Calories 180, Fat total 11 grams, saturated fat 1 gram, carbs 17 grams, fiber 3 grams, proteins 6 grams

HOMEMADE BUTTERFINGERS CANDY BARS



Homemade Butterfingers Candy Bars image

These little bites taste amazingly similar to a Butterfinger Candy Bar . . . and with only three ingredients and no oven required, they can be thrown together in a matter of minutes!

Yield 16

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb candy corn
1 (16 oz) jar creamy peanut butter
1 (16 oz) package chocolate candy coating
Melt candy corn in microwave on high 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking in 15-second intervals until completely melted, stirring after each interval. Stir in peanut butter. Spread mixture in a 9x9" pan lined with wax paper. Let cool completely (put in the fridge if you want it to set up more quickly). Cut into bite-size squares or bars.
Melt chocolate as directed on package. Dip peanut butter bars in melted chocolate candy coating. Lay on waxed paper to set.
