FRUIT-FLAVORED ICED GREEN TEA



Fruit-Flavored Iced Green Tea image

Fruit-flavored ice cubes add flavor to your green tea as they melt.

8 Benner Green Tea Bags
8 ounces strawberries, hulled
2 cups Nature's Nectar Premium Not From Concentrate Orange Juice
1 lime, zested
1 lime, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Boil 8 cups water. Pour into a clear pitcher. Add 6-8 green tea bags and steep for 3-5 minutes or to desired strength. Remove tea bags and refrigerate.
  • Place strawberries in a food processor and pulse gently until roughly chopped. In a pourable container, combine strawberries, orange juice and lime zest. Pour into ice cube trays. Freeze for 2 hours or until set.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and top with chilled green tea. Garnish with lime slices.

Hubby and I try to drink green tea on a daily basis. I came up with this recipe to make it more interesting. You can use freshly squeezed orange juice instead of grapefruit juice.

1 (2 inch) piece lemon zest, cut into thin slivers
2 teaspoons boiling water
2 teaspoons green tea powder
¾ cup hot water
½ cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey

Steps:

  • Put lemon zest into a large cup or mug. Cover with 2 teaspoons boiling water and let steep for about 3 minutes. Stir in the green tea powder and hot water. Add the grapefruit juice, lemon juice and honey. Mix well and serve.

10 sprigs mint
300ml fresh orange juice
juice 1 lime
1⁄2 sliced orange , mint leaves and ice to serve

Steps:

  • Make the tea with 1.2 litres water and the sugar. Add mint to the pot and infuse for 10 mins. Strain and cool.
  • Pour into a jug, stir in the juices and serve with orange slices, mint and plenty of ice.

10 tea bags
1-1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup thawed orange juice concentrate

  • In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water just to a boil. Remove from the heat. Add tea bags; let stand for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags. , Pour tea into a large container. Stir in the sugar, lemon juice, orange juice concentrate and remaining water. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice.

2 seedless oranges
2 lemons
2 limes
superfine sugar or Splenda granular
of fresh mint, for garnish

Steps:

  • Bring 2 quarts water to a boil in a large pot; remove from heat and add the tea bags; steep 20 minutes.
  • Slice 1 orange, 1 lemon, and 1 lime into thin rounds.
  • Squeeze and strain the juice from the remaining orange, lemon, and lime.
  • Stir the citrus juices into the brewed tea.
  • Pour the tea into a pitcher and stir in the sugar/artificial sweetener to taste, until dissolved.
