2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Kosher salt
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons cornstarch
4 ounces sharp white cheddar, coarsely grated (about 1 cup), divided
2 ounces Monterey Jack, coarsely grated (about 1/2 cup), divided
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
2 tablespoons finely chopped peperoncini
Crackers and/or tortilla chips (for serving)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium. Cook onion, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and softened, 8-10 minutes; season with salt. Let cool.
  • Pulse cream cheese and mayonnaise in a food processor until smooth.
  • Toss cornstarch, 3/4 cup cheddar, and 1/4 cup Monterey Jack in a medium bowl to coat cheese. Mix in cream cheese mixture and cooked onion; season with salt and pepper. Scrape into a 1-qt. baking dish and top with remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack. Bake dip until golden and bubbling, 20-25 minutes. Let dip cool 5 minutes, then top with chives and peperoncini. Serve with crackers.

1 package (16 ounces) frozen bread dough dinner rolls, thawed
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
DIP:
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
1 can (14 ounces) water-packed artichoke hearts, rinsed, drained and chopped
1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper

Steps:

  • Place a 6-in. cake pan or small ovenproof saucepan in the center of a 10-in. cast-iron skillet. Cut each roll into thirds; roll each piece into a ball. Place along outer edge of skillet. Gently stack remaining balls on top of bottom layer, leaving some space between them. Cover and let rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes., Preheat oven to 400°. Microwave butter, garlic powder and red pepper flakes, covered, until butter is melted. Brush half of butter mixture over dough. Reserve remaining butter mixture., Bake until dough balls are set and beginning to brown, 15-18 minutes. Remove cake pan from skillet. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms; cook and stir until tender, 5-7 minutes. Steps:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add some olive oil and the chorizo, and cook, breaking the meat up with a spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the bell pepper, onion, chili powder and tomatoes and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat the broiler. Transfer the chorizo mixture to an oven-safe dish and layer on the Muenster, manchego and Gruyere.

1/2 cup parmesan asiago and romano cheese blend (the stuff in the shaker can)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder (more or less to taste)

tortilla chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Mix together all ingredients EXCEPT cheddar and monterey jack cheeses.

It is my go-to winter appetizer and is ALWAYS gobbled up!I have given out the recipe too many times to count so now I can just refer them to food.com! BTW, the reason you cannot use fat-free items in this recipe is because this dip is baked in the oven and fat free stuff does not hold up well during the cooking process and will usually separate.

8 oz cream cheese(room temp)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/3 c freshly grated parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp romano cheese, grated
2 Tbsp finely chopped red bell pepper
2 green onions finely chopped
1 c spinach, frozen( add more depending on personal preference)
1/2 c chedder cheese, grated
pinch cayenne pepper
pinch paprika
OPTIONAL ADDS
1 or 2 Tbsp epicure spinach dip seasoning
1 clove fresh garlic minced
1 c mozzarella cheese or any other cheese you like
1 small onion white or sweet finely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • 2. Mix cream cheese, garlic powder, parmesan, romano, mozzarella, cayenne and paprika with hand or stand mixer on medium until softened and well mixed.
  • 3. Add the red peppers and the onions and mix on med-low until just incorporated.
  • 4. Add spinach and mix on low until just incorporated. Transfer mixture to a small ovenproof dish and top with cheddar and mozzarella
  • 5. Bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until bubbling around the edges.

This dip comes from Hillshire Farms. Its a delicious recipe dip to serve with little smokies of any variety or to serve in a bread bowl or just as a dip for chips or crackers even. Great for special occassions such as the holidays or for parties or just to serve at home for game day or that special event.

1/4 cup swiss cheese, shredded
1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (1 1/2 ounce) package dried Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 teaspoons chopped parsley
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups small curd cottage cheese

Steps:

  • Mix sour cream and mayonnaise together in a large bowl.
  • Add cottage cheese,lipton dried onion soup mix,and chopped parsley. Stir well.
  • Add in swiss cheese and cheddar cheese and mix well.
  • Chill 1 hour or overnight and serve with little smokies, chips, bread cubes,or crackers.
