TEXAS-STYLE PEACH COBBLER
Fresh peaches sweetened with sugar and topped with a creamy buttery cake-like topping. A Texas favorite dessert!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 4 Tablespoons butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Place in the oven and let the butter melt, watching carefully. Remove from oven.
- In a medium-size bowl, stir together 1/4 cup of sugar, fresh sliced peaches, and lemon zest. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, remaining 1 1/4 cup of sugar, and salt. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the remaining 8 Tablespoons of butter. Whisk in melted butter (let cool for several minutes before adding) and buttermilk. Stir until smooth.
- Pour batter into the pan with the melted butter. Sprinkle the peach mixture evenly over batter. Generously sprinkle with sugar. Bake until golden brown and edges are crisp -- about 42-48 minutes.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream.

This is very traditional southern comfort food always cooked in a big bowl. My grandmother passed down her 'cobbler bowl' to me that she got from her grandmother.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix self-rising flour and sugar in a bowl. Stir milk into the flour mixture.
- Pour melted butter in an oven-safe bowl. Pour flour mixture over melted butter. Layer peaches in heavy syrup atop flour mixture. Do not stir!
- Bake in preheated oven until peaches are bubbly and crust is lightly browned, 50 to 60 minutes.

I grew up in Texas where peach cobbler is a staple at any potluck party. I adapted this from another recipe to make it healthier. That way you can add some vanilla frozen yogurt!

- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a bowl combine flour, sugar, splenda, baking powder, salt, vanilla, and milk. Mix well.
- Spray 9x9 pan and pour batter in to pan.
- Sprinkle peaches on top of batter.
- Combine topping and evenly sprinkle on top.
- Bake one hour until golden brown.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl; toss and set aside.
- Place butter in 8-inch square baking dish.
- Place in oven for 5 minutes or until butter is completely melted.
- Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Combine milk and vanilla.
- Add milk mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
- Spoon batter over butter, spreading evenly (DO NOT STIR!).
