2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 loaf (1 pound) unsliced French bread, halved lengthwise

  • In a small bowl, combine the cheese blend, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese and onions; spread over cut sides of bread., Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

4 ½ cups low-moisture mozzarella, cut into about twenty pieces
2 cups white chedder, grated, or comte cheese
salt, to taste

1 handful parsley, chopped
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
  • Cut the bread diagonally to form diamond shapes, making sure not to cut all the way down to the base of the bread.
  • Place the pieces of white cheddar between cuts.
  • Cover with shredded mozzarella.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, parsley, and melted butter on top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until all the cheese is melted and the bread is lightly toasted.

1 loaf (18-20 inches) French Bread
2 sticks butter, softened
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place foil on rimmed baking sheet and set aside.
  • Make cuts, about 1 inch apart, in the bread but don't cut through bottom. Combine all remaining ingredients. Spread half of the butter mixture between the bread slices. Spread the remaining mixture over the top of the bread.
  • Place bread on foil on a rimmed baking sheet. Cover loosely with additional foil. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 20-30 minutes. For the last 5 minutes, remove foil covering bread to allow it to brown. Serve warm.

4 teaspoons prepared mustard
5 slices process Swiss cheese

  • Cut bread into 1-in.-thick slices, leaving slices attached at bottom. In a bowl, combine the butter, onions and mustard; spread on both sides of each slice of bread. Cut each cheese slice diagonally into four triangles; place between the slices of bread. 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package regular active or fast-acting dry yeast
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 oz)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Butter or margarine, softened
Grated Parmesan cheese, if desired
Freshly cracked pepper, if desired

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix 1 cup of the flour, the sugar, salt and yeast. In 1-quart saucepan, heat 1/3 cup butter, the water and milk over medium heat, stirring frequently, until very warm (120°F to 130°F). Pour over flour mixture; beat with electric mixer on low speed about 30 seconds or until blended. Beat in egg on medium speed; continue beating 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  • Stir in remaining flour, the Swiss cheese and garlic. (If dough is sticky, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons additional flour.) Cover; let rise in warm place about 45 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.
  • Grease 1-quart casserole with shortening or cooking spray. Stir down dough; shape into a ball. Place in casserole. Brush top with softened butter; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and pepper. Cover; let rise in warm place about 35 minutes or until dough has doubled in size. (If using fast-acting yeast, do not let rise 35 minutes; cover and let rest on floured surface 10 minutes.)
  • Heat oven to 375°F. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until loaf is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. (If loaf browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil during last 15 minutes of baking.) Immediately remove from casserole to cooling rack. Serve warm.

1 large loaf of french bread
1 lb swiss cheese, sliced into 1 inch cubes
1 1/2 stick margarine-softened
2 Tbsp dried minced onion
1 tsp lawrey's seasoning salt
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. Cut bread into 1" slices.(cutting diagonal strips down one side, repeating the strips on the opposite end to create a diamond effect to the 1" slices). Place Bread onto foil in a baking pan creating a bowl effect with foil so as the sauce won't flow onto pan).
  • 2. Place 1 slice cheese between each slice of the bread, making sure not to miss any slices of bread.
  • 3. Mix other ingredients together. Spread on top and sides of bread.
  • 4. Add another piece of foil over the top of the prepared bread covering completely. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

1 french bread loaf
1 pkg swiss cheese
1/2 c butter
2 Tbsp minced onion
1 Tbsp dutch mustard or grey poupon
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp poppy seed
1/2 tsp season salt

Steps:

  • 1. Cut a piece of aluminum foil large enough to hold the French bread loaf and a couple inches extra on each end.
  • 2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • 3. With a serrated knife, slice the bread diagonally in 1-inch slices.
  • 4. Place the bread in the middle of the aluminum foil.
  • 5. Insert half of a Swiss cheese slice between each slice of bread.
  • 6. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Turn the heat to low.
  • 7. To the butter, add the minced onion, mustard, lemon juice, poppy seed and season salt.
  • 8. Remove the saucepan from the stove, and pour a little bit of the mixture between each slice.
  • 9. At this point, if you wanted to turn this into a sandwich, you would place a piece of deli ham between each slice of bread.
  • 10. Wrap the aluminum foil around the bread, but do not cover it completely.
  • 11. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • 12. Remove the bread from the oven and serve immediately. This bread is addictive!

1 small onion, finely chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cut bread diagonally into 1-in. slices to within 1 in. of bottom of loaf. Repeat cuts in opposite direction. Place cheese cubes and mushrooms in cuts. , In a microwave-safe bowl, combine remaining ingredients; microwave, covered, on high until butter is melted, 30-60 seconds. Stir until blended.
