A Southern favorite at holiday time. We combine sweet early peas with cream, cheddar and French fried onions rings.

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cans (15 oz each) LeSueur® very young small early peas, drained
1 can (2.8 oz) french fried onion rings

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350° F. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cook 2 minutes or until onions are tender. Stir in flour, salt, pepper; cook stirring constantly, 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk and cream; cook stirring constantly 4 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
  • Stir in cheese until melted and smooth. Add peas; stir gently to combine.Spoon mixture into 8 inch square baking dish. Bake 20 minutes. Top with french fried onions; bake an additional 5 minutes. Serve immediately.

1 (15 ounce) can sweet peas
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn
1 (2 ounce) jar pimentos (optional for color mostly)
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Drain canned vegetables.
  • Pour all ingredients into a casserole dish with the exception of the grated cheese.
  • Top casserole with the grated cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

1 ¼ cups seasoned cube stuffing mix, crushed
3 tablespoons Country Crock® Spread, melted

Steps:

1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups grated fontina cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 (16-ounce) packages frozen green peas, thawed and drained
1 (6-ounce) can french-fried onion rings

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add mush¬rooms, onion, and garlic; cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until tender. Stir in flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Gradually stir in milk and cream; cook, stirring constantly, for 6 to 8 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Add cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth. Add peas, stirring to combine. Spoon mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish; bake for 30 minutes. Everyone in my family loves this dish. It adds a great flavor to sweet peas. My nieces and nephews who do not eat sweet peas really loved this dish.

1 can(s) cream of celery soup
1 can(s) sweet peas
1 pkg french fried onions
1 pkg oscar myer bacon bits and pieces
1 pkg cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Use a 8x8 baking dish, add the cream of celery soup and the 1/2 cup of water mix well.
  • 2. Drain 1/2 of the water out of the sweet peas and then fold them in the soup mixture. Add the small can of French's French fried onions and mix well. Stir in 1/2 of the package of bacon bits or all of it, it depends on how much you want. Put it in a 350 degree oven and bake for 30 minutes. After you bake it for 30 minutes bring it back out and add the cheese and bake until cheese is melted.
