These are soooo good!!!! They are great for the big game day!! As a main dish I serve one per person. For appetizers, I slice each strombli into thirds. I sometimes leave out the bell peppers to make it a little more kid-friendly.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 burrito-size flour tortillas
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, softened
6 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
4 ounces provolone cheese, thinly sliced
4 ounces salami, thinly sliced
4 ounces ham, thinly sliced (or capicolla)
1/2 cup roasted sweet peppers, rinsed, cut into strips
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
marinara sauce or pizza sauce, heated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400º.
  • Lightly spread one side of each tortilla with butter.
  • Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon parmesan.
  • Arrange 1/4 each of provolone, salami, ham and bell peppers over center of tortillas, leaving a border around edges.
  • Sprinkle each tortilla with 1/4 of the mozzarella.
  • Fold up wrap style.
  • Place seam side down on non-stick baking sheet.
  • Brush with remaining butter; sprinkle with remaining parmesan.
  • Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Slice each stromboli on the diagonal.
  • Serve with heated sauce.

Stromboli gets a makeover with these Italian-style wraps. Warm flour tortillas are spread with a savory pesto marinara sauce and wrapped around a filling of salami, capicola, shredded cheese and roasted red peppers. 15 minutes in the oven results in golden wraps that are chock full of incredible flavor.

Vegetable cooking spray
1 Prego® Pesto Marinara Italian Sauce
4 flour tortillas (10-inch)
2 cheese
5 salami
6 ham
1/2 roasted red peppers

Steps:

  • 1 Heat the oven to 400° F. Spray a baking sheet with the cooking spray.
  • Spread 1/4 cup sauce on each tortilla to within 1 inch of the edge. Sprinkle each with 1/2 cup cheese. Divide the salami, capicola and peppers among the tortillas. Fold two opposite sides in 2 inches over the filling. Starting at the bottom, roll up to enclose the filling. Place the wraps, seam-side down, onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until the wraps are golden brown. Let the wraps cool on the baking sheet on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Serve with the remaining sauce for dipping.
