Strawberry flavored angel food cake, drizzled with a delightful strawberry glaze.

1 (18.25 ounce) package angel food cake mix
1 ¼ cups strawberry flavored carbonated beverage
¼ cup honey
¼ cup butter, melted
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
4 tablespoons strawberry flavored carbonated beverage
4 drops red food coloring

Steps:

  • Prepare cake mix according to package directions, except substitute 1 1/4 cups soda pop and honey for the water. Bake as directed. Remove from oven and set upside-down until cooled.
  • Meanwhile to prepare glaze, combine melted margarine, powdered sugar, remaining soda pop, and food coloring in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth and drizzling consistency. Spread top of cooled cake.

My kids have started requesting this cake for their birthdays! It is very easy to make. Poking holes into a cake with a fork is fun for the whole family. :) The icing bowl gets licked clean whenever I make this.

1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix
3 egg whites (or as called for by your cake mix)
1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 (12 ounce) can strawberry soda
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip
1 cup milk
1 pint strawberry (to garnish) (optional)

Steps:

  • Prepare white cake mix according to package directions.
  • Pour into a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  • Bake as directed.
  • When the cake is almost done, mix the strawberry Jell-O, boiling water, and strawberry soda together.
  • As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, prick holes in it with a fork, and immediately pour the strawberry soda mixture over the cake.
  • Refrigerate.
  • To prepare icing, gently beat together dry pudding mix, Cool Whip, and milk.
  • Spread over cooled cake.
  • Garnish with strawberries if desired.
  • Store in refrigerator.

This soda pop cake is almost like my orange creamsicla cake. They look so festive for the Holiday table!

1 box strawberry cake mix
1 large package or 2 small packages strawberry jello
1 c boiling water
1 c strawberry soda
1 jar(s) vanilla frosting
1 pkg strawberry kool-aid

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare cake mix and bake in a 9x13-inch pan, follow instructions on box.
  • 2. While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  • 3. Combine the jello and boiling water, stir to dissolve. Add the strawberry soda to the jello mixture and gently pour over the cake while still warm.
  • 4. Add the kool-aid to the vanilla frosting and mix till well blended, spread over the cake.

I had this cake years ago and loved it. During the summer it is a hit at my house. When company or family are coming over this is their first choice for dessert.

1 - french vanilla cake mix
1 - eagle brand milk
1 - can of strawberry soda
1 - cool whip
- fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • I used a deep 13x9 pan. Bake cake according to directions. Let cool, when cooled poke holes into cake with straw.
  • Pour whole can of strawberry soda on cake, let soda absorb into cake.
  • Pour eagle brand milk onto the cake after the soda. Use a spoon to spread around to edges of cake.
  • Empy cool whip onto cake, spread cool whip to edges of cake. Top with fresh strawberries.
  • Refrigerate cake for at least 3 to 4 hours before serving. This is best served cold and in the summer.

OH MY GOSH! I have been looking for what I called Mommy's Strawberry Poke Cake...THIS IS IT!!!!! Oh so yummy, and a great memory of childhood! This find makes me very happy!

1 yellow cake mix (mom always put duncan hines in her other recipes)
1 large strawberry jello (i assume a family size?)
1 1/2 c hot water
1 1/2 c strawberry pop (i couldn't find, so got sprite)
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 container cool whip

Steps:

  • 1. Bake cake to directions. Use a 9x13 or loaf pan. Pierce top of cake with a fork. dissolve jello in water, cool. Add pop and pour over cake. Refrigerate 1 hour. Prepare pudding to directions, add cool whip and frost the cake. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • 2. Icing---- Mix cool whip, pudding, milk, jello, and kool-aid. ice cooled cake and put in icebox until ready to serve.
