1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsel
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped toffee pieces, such as almond rocca

Steps:

  • PREHEAT oven to 375°F Grease 9-inch-square baking pan.
  • COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and chopped toffee. Spread into prepared baking pan.
  • BAKE for 20 to 23 minutes. Remove pan to wire rack. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes or until chocolate is set. Cut into bars.

Simple to make, these filling and healthy oat bars are great to grab for breakfast or a snack. Make them ahead and skip the Starbucks line!

3 ¾ cups quick oats
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter
½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F and line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  • In the bowl of a food processor, grind 2 cups of oats until super fine and flour-like. Add to a large bowl and stir in the remaining 1¾ cups oats and salt. Mix to combine.
  • Melt the butter, brown sugar, and maple over medium heat in a small saucepan until the butter is completely melted and the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and whisk in the almond milk and vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.
  • Pour the butter mixture into the oat mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan and press the oats into the pan evenly.
  • Bake until slightly golden brown, rotating halfway through, 20 minutes. Let cool and then slice into bars.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cups fruit (I used 1 cup each of blackberries, blueberries and peach)
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar (adjust as needed depending on sweetness of fruit)
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 cup butter
6 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Crust:.
  • Mix butter, sugar and flour with pastry blender until crumbly, and firmly press the mixture into a lightly greased 8-inch square pan.
