SPOONBURGERS
I have had this recipe for over 35 years. I never have figured why they are called spoonburgers, but they really are good.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat large skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add ground beef and brown for about 5 minutes.
- 2. Add onion and celery and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in flour.
- 3. Add ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and chili powder. Stir to combine.
- 4. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 5. Spoon mixture onto toasted buns and serve.

- In medium saucepan combine first nine ingredients simmer 10 minutes. In skillet cook together ground beef, green pepper, celery, and onion until meat loses its pink color and vegetables are soft. Combine with sauce simmer 5 minutes. Makes enough filling for 8 to 10 hamburger buns.

Spoon Burgers were popular back in the 30's during the days of the Depression. This is a simple supper and easy on the ol' grocery budget. It was actually a delicious, filling meal!

- Combine beef, water, and salt. Simmer covered, until tender.
- Saute' onion and garlic in oil; add vegetables to oil. Add sugar and remaining ingredients to beef.
- Cover and simmer for about one hour or until sauce is thick and beef is very tender.
