SWEET AND SPICY SLOPPY JOES
These sandwiches have been the go-to meal for my son's basketball team. Turkey is a wonderful change from ground beef and really absorbs all the flavors. I have also used this for a Friday the 13th celebration at work, calling it 13-ingredient sloppy joes. -Karen Hildebrand, LaBelle, Florida

HOT AND SPICY SLOPPY JOES
Spicy!!!! Crock pot recipe! Yes! There is no reason you can't make these stove top. Just simmer till flavors meld and meat is tender. I also puree an optional carrot and red bell pepper for sweetness and extra nutrients for the family

SPICY SLOPPY ITALIAN JOES!
This is my version of open-faced sloppy joes. I probably make this 2-3 times a month...DH loves it so! To make this a fast, weeknight meal I use a sloppy joe packet and frozen Texas toast garlic bread slices with 5 cheeses(of course, you don't have to get the kind with cheese). You could also use a loaf of garlic bread and cut into large pieces after baking if you prefer. Enjoy!

Steps:
- Bake Texas toast style garlic bread slices per package directions. (I like the kind with cheese!).
- Brown meat (breaking up into crumbles), onion, peppers, and garlic in a large skillet over medium high heat until veggies are soft and meat is cooked through. Drain grease if necessary.
- Add dry sloppy joe packet and spaghetti sauce to meat mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Reduce heat to medium. Let sauce simmer until reduced to desired consistency, about 5-10 minutes (we like ours super saucy, so I only simmer about 5 min).
- I serve these open-faced, so spoon sloppy joe mixture over baked garlic bread pieces and top with parmesan cheese.

SPICY LENTIL VEGAN SLOPPY JOES
I've been on a sloppy joe kick lately. This lentil sloppy joe is easy to throw together, has a flavorful, firm texture, and is packed full of protein. It's also good to smother a baked potato, it's so good! Today I improvised a little and threw in cooked brown rice and some crushed walnuts. Feel free to experiment! From Naturally Ella.

SPICY COCOA SLOPPY JOES
Courtesy of the Hershey's Kitchen, with a couple of my personal additions. Don't be scared by the cocoa powder! It adds a nice richness to the sandwiches - but it doesn't make them taste like chocolate :) Use the smaller amount of chili powder for less spicy "joes" :)
