Here's a super simple dry rub for a slab of pork ribs. Works great with chicken, too.

3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ tablespoons paprika
1 ½ tablespoons salt
1 ½ tablespoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub into pork ribs. For best results, allow ribs to marinate overnight. Grill ribs as desired.

4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup kosher salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup ground mustard
1/4 cup garlic salt
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
1/4 cup chili powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 cup paprika

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix well to break up any lumps. (Optional: Use a food processor.) Keeps in a covered container at room temperature for several months. Before each use, stir the rub to re-distribute all the ingredients evenly. Makes about 4 cups.
