Marinade
4 limes
2 c. soy sauce
1/2 lb. ginger, thinly sliced
1 c. sliced scallions
2 tbsp. honey
Steak
2 garlic cloves
1 c. canola oil
1 1/2 cups marinade
2 lbs. flank steak

Steps:

  • Marinade: 1. Roast whole limes on small baking tray for 10-12 minutes at 350. Cool. 2. COmbine all other ingredients in small bowl. WHen limes have cooled, cut in half and squeeze into bowl. (Marinade will make 3 cups and keeps in refrigerator for 2 weeks). Steak: 1. In a shallow dish, combine garlic, oil and marinade. Marinade for at least 6 hours, tuning steak once. 2. Pre-heat medium hot grill. Grill steak for 7-8 minutes each side for medium rare. 3. Remove from grill and let rest 5 minutes. SLice against grain into 1/4 inch slices.

This marinade is based off of a Rachael Ray marinade...I've just altered it a little to make it even easier. We like it on thin cut steaks and serve it with twice baked potatoes and broccoli. Yum!

1 teaspoon ginger powder
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon grill seasoning, such as McCormick brand Montreal Steak Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb steak, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a zip lock plastic bag and marinate in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • Grill or cook in a skillet and enjoy!
