Also heard this referred to as "scumgullian". This is my grandmother's recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 Tbsp olive oil
2 medium onions, diced
1 medium bell pepper, diced
1 c uncooked macaroni
1 1/2 lb ground beef
16 oz canned tomatoes, with juice
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. In large stew pot, brown onions, peppers and macaroni with olive oil
  • 2. crumble beef into vegetables and brown
  • 3. Simmer and cook 35 minutes, or until macaroni is soft. (*Note add additional water as needed to keep from sticking)
  • 4. Season with salt and pepper, serve hot.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 finely chopped onion
1 can(s) tomato soup
1 can(s) tomato sauce
1 can(s) corn, drained
1 can(s) peas, drained
1 pkg wide egg noodles

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meat and onion together
  • 2. Add tomato soup and sauce simmer for few minutes
  • 3. Add drained corn and peas, simmer for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste
  • 4. Cook noodles to package directions. When done add to casserole dish add meat mixture and stir to mix
  • 5. Bake 35- 45 minutes. Great served with a salad and garlic bread

This recipe was passed down from my Scottish grandparents. But it is a very old dish, going back to the ancient Greeks. It's still great! Feel free to jazz it up any way you like.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground beef
1 can(s) condensed french onion soup
3 can(s) water
3 large yukon gold potatoes, sliced
3 large onion, peeled and sliced
3 large carrots, peeled and sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the beef. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 2. Pour in the soup and 3 cans of water.
  • 3. Add onions, potatoes, and carrots.
  • 4. Bring to boil and cook for 30-40 minutes (until a fork goes into and pulls out easily from the potatoes).
