SLOW COOKER TURKEY MEATBALLS IN TOMATO SAUCE
These slow cooker turkey meatballs in tomato sauce are a great alternative to traditional beef meatballs. Can be served over pasta or make meatball sandwiches with sauteed onions and peppers with melted Italian cheese over the top. Fantastic!

Steps:
- Saute onion and Italian dressing in a small saute pan over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Combine turkey, bread crumbs, garlic, sauteed onions, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl; mix well.
- Combine diced tomatoes and marinara in a second bowl; set aside.
- Form 1/2 of the turkey mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and layer them in the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour 1/2 of the tomato mixture over the meatballs. Form the remaining turkey mixture into meatballs and layer with remaining tomato mixture.
- Cover and cook until no longer pink in the centers, about 4 hours on High, or 8 hours on Low.

- Spray the bottom of a slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Pour 1 cup marinara sauce into the prepared slow cooker.
- Combine turkey, Parmesan cheese, parsley, milk, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl; stir to combine. Add bread crumbs and mix using your hands until well combined.
- Form meat mixture into tangerine-sized meatballs. Place into the slow cooker and pour remaining marinara sauce on top.
- Cover and cook until meatballs are no longer pink in the centers, about 4 hours on High, or about 8 hours on Low.

Steps:
- Cut mozzarella cheese into 3/4-inch cubes. Store in the refrigerator while preparing the meat.
- Combine turkey, turkey sausage, bread crumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, parsley, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Mix well by hand.
- Roll meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs. Squish a mozzarella cube into the center of each and pull the edges of the meat around it to enclose.
- Pour 1 jar of spaghetti sauce into the bottom of a slow cooker. Arrange meatballs on top and cover with the second jar of sauce.

- Place turkey and bread crumbs in large bowl. Add egg; 1/2 cup each celery, peppers and onions; 2 Tbsp. 57 Sauce; and 2 tsp. Cajun seasoning; mix just until blended.
- Shape into 30 (1-inch) balls; place in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray.
- Combine tomatoes with remaining celery, peppers, onions and Cajun seasoning; pour over meatballs. .
- Cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours). About 15 min. before meatballs are done, cook grits as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Use slotted spoon to transfer meatballs from slow cooker to bowl; cover to keep warm. Stir remaining 57 Sauce into sauce remaining in slow cooker.
- Add cheese to grits; cook and stir 2 to 3 min. or until melted. Serve topped with meatballs and sauce.

- Spray interior of slow cooker thoroughly with nonstick cooking spray.
- Prepare meatballs. In a large bowl and with hands, mix together all meatball ingredients. Roll into balls 1-inch or 1 1/2-inches in diameter. Drop onto a baking dish lined with waxed paper. Cover with aluminum foil and set in refrigerator at least 30 minutes.
- Mix together sauce ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Place meatballs in slow cooker, stacking them one on another. Pour sauce over meatballs.
- Place the lid on top of the slow cooker and allow the meatballs to cook for 6 to 8 hours. Meatballs are ready when the internal temperature of each one has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit, determined by a meat thermometer. Basting, if desired during cooking time (careful not to let heat out from slow cooker)
- Serve warm either on small appetizer plates or with toothpicks for guests to pick meatballs out from the slow cooker.
