3 lb country-style pork loin ribs
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
3 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon liquid smoke

Steps:

  • Spray 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place ribs in slow cooker. In medium bowl, mix all remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 9 to 10 hours.

Make an old-fashioned country-style dinner in your slow cooker. Tart apples and saucy pork ribs make a sweet barbecue dinner. A fair splash of bourbon adds smoky flavor to this slow cooker recipe.

5 pound(s) country-style pork ribs
- salt
- ground black pepper
1 cup(s) apple jelly
3/4 cup(s) bourbon
1/2 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) bottled barbecue sauce
1/2 cup(s) cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon(s) dried thyme, crushed
3 medium tart cooking apples, peeled, cored, and quartered

Steps:

  • Season ribs with salt and pepper; place in a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together jelly, bourbon, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, vinegar, and the 1/2 teaspoon thyme. Pour bourbon mixture over ribs in the cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 3 hours or on high-heat setting for 1-1/2 hours.
  • Add apples to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours more or on high-heat setting for 1-1/2 to 2 hours more or until apples and ribs are tender.
  • To serve, transfer ribs to a serving platter. Strain cooking liquid and serve with ribs.

1 package(s) dry ranch dressing mix
1 bottle(s) franks red hot hot sauce
1/2 stick(s) butter

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in the bottom of a large slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch mix over top. Mix the hot sauce with the butter in small pan on stove top until butter is melted.
  • Pour over top of ribs and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Serve ribs with sauce over top and blue cheese dressing for dipping.

4-5 lbs. bone-in country-style pork ribs
2 bottles (18 oz. each) KRAFT Barbecue Sauce, any flavor (I used one each of Char-Grill and Hickory Smoke)
1/2 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. red pepper flakes
1 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. HEINZ Distilled White Vinegar

Steps:

  • Place ribs in slow cooker., and throw everything but the vinegar on top. Add a tablespoon of vinegar to each of the empty barbecue sauce bottles, shake them up and then pour the last bits of saucy goodness over the top.
  • COOK on low for 6-8 hours or until ribs reach that tender 'fall off the bone' stage. Serve 'em up and enjoy!
