2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large green bell pepper, diced
1/2 yellow onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups ketchup
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3 to 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Hot sauce, to taste
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
16 soft slider buns
1 cup canned fried onions, such as French's
Red grapes, for serving

Steps:

  • Place the beef in a large pot over medium-high heat and cook until browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain off the fat. Add the green peppers and onion and cook, stirring, until they soften slightly and are combined with the beef, a couple of minutes. Add the garlic and stir into the mixture for another minute or so.
  • Add the ketchup and 1 cup water and stir to combine. Add the chili powder, brown sugar, dry mustard, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire and hot sauce. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 20 minutes.
  • Spoon a good amount of the meat on the bottoms of the slider buns. Place a good pinch of the fried onions over the top and place the tops of the buns on the sliders. Serve with the red grapes on the side.

1 12-count package Hawaiian rolls
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small white onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Without separating the rolls, cut the entire loaf horizontally and place the bottoms in a 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Set aside.
  • To make the sloppy joe meat, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef and diced onion until the beef is cooked through and the onion has softened. Drain off excess fat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, just 30 seconds.
  • While the beef is cooking, stir together ketchup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and salt and pepper.
  • Once the fat has been drained from the meat, lower the heat and add ketchup mixture and water. Let cook until thickened and sloppy joe consistency, 4 - 5 minutes.
  • Spoon the meat mixture over the bottom halves of the rolls. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • To make the glaze, melt butter completely. Stir in brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, and sesame seeds. Pour over the sliders, making sure each sliders gets coated.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 18 - 22 minutes or until the sliders are golden brown.

12 slices cheddar cheese
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) sloppy joe sauce
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 small sweet white onion, diced (about 1 cup)
1 small green bell pepper, diced (about 1 cup)

1 cup ketchup, preferably Heinz
1 tablespoon vinegar-based hot sauce, preferably Valentina
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons packed light brown sugar
12 potato slider buns
1 cup shredded Cheddar

Steps:

  • Cook the beef in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Carefully drain excess fat from the pan. Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic and cook until fragrant and the veggies soften, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in the ketchup, hot sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire and brown sugar. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the veggies are tender and the mixture has thickened, 15 to 20 minutes. If the mixture seems too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons water. Add salt and pepper to taste.

1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder, divided
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon paprika
4 kaiser rolls, split
4 slices mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a skillet, cook beef, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Parmesan cheese, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, fennel seed and oregano. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
