1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
FILLING:
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar and butter. Press into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. , For filling, in a small bowl, whisk the corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla and salt; stir in pecans. Pour over crust. Bake 18-23 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

This recipe is the first pecan pie I ever made. It follows my philosophy that everything is better with real cream.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup 10% cream
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 pinch nutmeg or 1 pinch pumpkin pie spice
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells
1/3 cup pecan halves
1 tablespoon butter, cut in small chunks
1 cup whipping cream, whipped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
  • In bowl, combine brown sugar with flour.
  • In small bowl, blend cream, maple syrup and spice and add to first mnixture, beating lightly.
  • Pour mixture into pie shell. Top with pecans and butter. Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Let cool and serve with whipped cream.
