This will not look like the typical apple pie when served. It will appear more like a cobbler.

1 apples, red delicious
2 apples, granny smith
2 regular pie shells
1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1 c i can't believe it's not butter
1/2 c splenda half and half

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash the all apples. Core and slice the Granny Smith apples. Core and dice the red delicious apple. (removing skins is not necessary)
  • 2. Mix the apples togather in a large bowl.
  • 3. Combine margerin, cinnamon and splenda in a sauce pan. Melt the ingredients to a boil.
  • 4. Add all apple to one pie shell.
  • 5. Pour melted margerine combination over the apples in the pie shell.
  • 6. Place 2nd pie shell over the filled pie shell and pinch the edges. Score the the crust and place the pie in the oven.
  • 7. Bake for 50 minutes.
  • 8. Serve warm. Yummy with sugar-free fat-free whipped toppings or sugar -free ice cream! YUM!

I make this when I don't have time to make an apple pie. My boys are apple dessert fanatics! Pies, turnovers, danishes, cobblers,,,,as long as it's apple. APPLE FILLING
4-5 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
"MAGIC COBBLER"
3/4 stick butter, melted
1/3 c sugar
3/4 c milk
3/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Make the pie filling by placing 1/2 stick of butter, apple slices, brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium saute' pan. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes - until butter and sugar are melted and apples have softened. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • 3. Pour melted butter into bottom of a 9 x 9 baking dish or pan.
  • 4. In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/2 c sugar, baking powder and milk together. Stir until mostly smooth.
  • 5. Pour batter mixture over melted butter. Don't stir.
  • 6. Pour apple filling over batter. Again, don't stir.
  • 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes until golden brown. Batter will rise up and cover most of the apples. it's magic! Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
