1 lb jumbo uncooked shrimp peeled and deveined
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 clove garlic minced
1 Tbsp ginger grated
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 c scallions sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and soy sauce together. Add oil to a skillet or wok. Add the shrimp and then pour the sauce over the shrimp cook until shrimp turns pink. Add the scallions and cook 1 more minute. Serve

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons water
2 scallions, sliced thin
red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Follow "Base recipe for Pan Seared Shrimp" recipe number 316590, EXCEPT, subsitute an equal amount of red pepper flakes for black pepper.
  • Add Hoisin mixture when returning first batch of shrimp to skillet.

¼ yellow onion, chopped

1 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon chopped fresh gingerroot
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 lemon
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

Steps:

  • In a heavy saute pan or wok, heat oil on medium-high until barely smoking. Add shrimp and ginger and saute for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the soy sauce and lemon juice, and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the hoisin, and saute for 1 more minute or until the shrimp are well coated and fully cooked. Serve hot over rice.

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely chopped
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried chili pepper flakes (optional)
1 lb medium shrimp, tails on and peeled

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients, except shrimp, in a medium bowl. Stir well to dissolve. Add shrimp and stir to coat. Cover and place in refrigerator to marinate for 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  • Put 3-5 shrimp per skewer, depending on size. Grill on lightly oiled hot grill until done - approximately 2 minutes per side. Large shrimp may not require skewers and be placed individually on the grill.
  • Transfer to serving plate and serve hot or warm.
